Basically, which of the two players would you rather have, as a Patriots fan? Consider the round and the player.

1. Golden Tate (1st round) or Andre Roberts (4th round) or Jordan Shipley (5th round)

2. Jahvid Best (2nd round) or Dexter McCluster (4th round)

3. Jermaine Gersham (1st round) or Aaron Hernandez (2nd round) or Dennis Pitta (4th round)

4. Jared Odrick (1st round) or Alex Carrington (2nd round)

5. Ricky Sapp (2nd round) or Koa Misi (2nd round) or Jason Worilds (4th round)

Roberts
Best
Pitta (but i think a 4th rd grade is way too late)
Carrington, I think he brings more to the rush side, similar to jarvis green
Sapp

Interesting topic

1. Golden Tate (1st round) or Andre Roberts (4th round) or Jordan Shipley (5th round)

I'd take Roberts out of these 3 and it's an easy decision for me.

2. Jahvid Best (2nd round) or Dexter McCluster (4th round)

Toughest decision of the 5 for me, but the combination of value in the 4th round and Best's concussion sway me slightly to McCluster

3. Jermaine Gersham (1st round) or Aaron Hernandez (2nd round) or Dennis Pitta (4th round)

Don't want to use a first rounder on a TE, so it's Hernandez pending his workout.

4. Jared Odrick (1st round) or Alex Carrington (2nd round)

Odrick is my pick, but it would be Carrington if he was a 3rd or 4th round guy instead of round 2.

5. Ricky Sapp (2nd round) or Koa Misi (2nd round) or Jason Worilds (4th round)

Sapp, one of the very few guys who comes close to the measurables BB wants at OLB (he did measure a little short).

I think some of your rounds are out, but I'd take those.

Tate is the #1 WR on my board, and he seems like a perfect fit for the Pats due to his ability to get a ton of YAC. But he does run terribly sloppy routes and that won't cut it in the NFL. Roberts looked good at the senior bowl, but is a developmental WR at best. Shipley is slow, too slow in my opinion.

Best is going to need a lot of medical clearances, before I spend a draft pick on him. I thought McCluster would run much better than did, and since we have a slow small pro bowl WR already, I am not sure why we need him.

I am not a fan of Hernandez who is a glorified H Back and can't block. I was really impressed with Pitta at the combine and although he didn't block at all in college, based on his huge reps, I think he could become a decent blocker after some time with Dante. Gersham is overvalued as a 1st round pick,I think we can find 5 other 4.7 guys that can block and catch as well as he does. Depending on how Peek runs,he could be the guy.

Carrington's arms are short, but his motor runs constantly at 600 HP. He gave Alabama fits earlier this year, and I respect a guy that can do that. Odrick is a mystery. A lot of people talk him up as a five technique, but in the bowl game, he did nothing against an average LSU OL, and that scares me because the tape doesn't lie.

Worilds is NOT on my Pats type player draft board. I have no tape of Misi, except the senior bowl to look at, so I not sure about him. For all Sapp's measurables, his numbers at Clemson were not great, I think he had only 6 sacks. But unlike Hughes who has only two pass rushing moves, Sapp, does have a much wider variety of pass rushing moves and with more strength, it should translate well to the NFL.

I agree with the way people are thinking mostly, that the first round is too early for a WR (unless it's Dez Bryant) and the second is too early for a TE or RB.

I'm looking at DE/OLB/ILB in the first and second round, WR in the second and third and fourth.

And you have to know that Belichick is working a trade to move into the third round.

Whether he's going to trade next year's second for a third this year, or perhaps bundle 44 & 47 for a late first and a late third, you just know he feels he needs to be in the 3rd round.

If Graham or Odrick start dropping to that 26-32 range, he might be mighty tempted to package 44 & 47. heck, he might drop down from 22 to 30, but this year something tells me that you throw the draft trade value chart out the window because no one will give you a 3rd rounder for trading down.

Roberts
Best
Pitta
Carrington
Sapp

I'd take Roberts over anyone not named Dez Bryant and Rejus Benn.

McCluster over Best.

Moeaki over all those guys.

Odrick, but not by much.

Misi over Sapp -- he could play SILB too.

Do you really think Misi can play inside linebacker and stack and shed NFL Lineman.

Do you have confidence in Misi's ability to stack and shed an Alan Faneca if we were playing the Jets?

I'm not saying that he's Rolando McClain, but I do think that he could play a variety of positions for the Patriots.

I know Misi played DT, DE, and OLB in the various formations Utah threw at the opposing offenses, he could certainly stand to get stronger, and he probably should put back another five to ten pounds of muscle from what he shed last Fall as he geared up for a position switch in the NFL, then he'll just have to learn to deal with Guards as good as Alan Faneca like any other rookie coming into the NFL - even those SEC studs.

So I have to trade a 2 back into the fourth?

Roberts. Better value.

2. Jahvid Best (2nd round) or Dexter McCluster (4th round)

Best, faster and more explosive player. He has a rare blend of speed and agility. His ability to upshift his gears is also unmatched of any athlete in this year's combine imo. Watch the simulcam of Best vs Spiller. That come from behind acceleration is unreal. This ability is also what allows him to change direction, then speed up again on a dime.

3. Jermaine Gersham (1st round) or Aaron Hernandez (2nd round) or Dennis Pitta (4th round)

I like Jimmy Graham but out of these guys, I'd go with Pitta since he can be had later. Those other tight ends seem to be over valued for what they bring to the table.

4. Jared Odrick (1st round) or Alex Carrington (2nd round)

Odrick, although I've heard some good things about Carrington. Also Carrington is a bit of a lightweight at only 285 lbs. I wonder if he has the body structure to put on more weight without slowing down significantly.

5. Ricky Sapp (2nd round) or Koa Misi (2nd round) or Jason Worilds (4th round)

This is tough. I'd probably go with Misi here out of these guys. There are other passrushers that I like more though.

If they are going to pick a WR early, I'd want it to be LaFell ideally. I guess out of the above though, I'd take Tate.

2. Jahvid Best (2nd round) or Dexter McCluster (4th round)

I want nothing to do with any player who takes the field below 180 lbs, so it would have to be Best here.

3. Jermaine Gersham (1st round) or Aaron Hernandez (2nd round) or Dennis Pitta (4th round)

Out of the three and given their respective rounds, I'd have to say Pitta. I wouldn't hesitate at taking Gronkowsi in the 2nd about any of these options, though.

4. Jared Odrick (1st round) or Alex Carrington (2nd round)

Odrick for me. Great size and good athleticism and strength, along with college production to back it up.

5. Ricky Sapp (2nd round) or Koa Misi (2nd round) or Jason Worilds (4th round)

I don't like Sapp at all. I like Misi but at a much lower round, as he doesn't really have the college numbers you'd like to see to back up his Senior Bowl helium. As much as I wish he'd grow another couple inches, I'd take Worilds with no hesitation in the fourth round.

1. Tate could start right away and if we don't sign another WR before the draft I would pick him. Otherwise I'll go with Shipley. He's a bit slower but his production cannot be denied. If he can get open and catch the ball Brady will make him a star. Roberts is kind of small and didn't play against elite competition.

2. Best in the second would be a steal as I dont see him making it out of first round. McCulster just seems too skinny to play in the NFL. Chris Johnson looks like he's going to get hurt every play and he's 25 lbs bigger then McCluster.

3. What round can we take my binky Jimmy Graham? If I can't take him I'll take Pitta. Gresham is going to be good, but not 1st round worthy with his question marks. Hernadez stock is dropping, and Pitta is rising since the combine. At this point I'll take Pitta in the 4th.

4. How about neither? Odrick is purely a penetrating 4-3 DT imo. Carington is in that size range that really doesn't fit with a 3-4. If I have to take one I would take Odrick. At least he can play DE in a 3-4 and hopefully work on his run defense.

5. I think Ricky Sapp is probable a better pass rush then Misi, and that's one of the team's greatest weakness so I'll pick Sapp. Wordlis is too inconsistent for me.

Shipley. First round talent, however will slip.

2. Jahvid Best (2nd round) or Dexter McCluster (4th round)

Best, if checks out with injury I would take him with any of the three 2nd rounders

3. Jermaine Gersham (1st round) or Aaron Hernandez (2nd round) or Dennis Pitta (4th round)

Hernandez or Gronkowski for me as far as the tight end.

4. Jared Odrick (1st round) or Alex Carrington (2nd round)

I think Carrington can be had in the 3rd or fourth round so Carrington..

5. Ricky Sapp (2nd round) or Koa Misi (2nd round) or Jason Worilds (4th round)

Sapp is garbage IMO Misi definitely
