Anyone feel Pierre Thomas is worth the second round tender?

I think he'd be a great addition to this offense.

YES...i think he'd be well worth it. hes not only a tough inside runner, but offers versatility out of the passing game

Considering we have 4 second round picks he would be worth a try.

i do like pierre, but when you think about it, is it worth it considering we still have maroney? maybe if we could trade maroney for a 3rd itd be worth it

(Sorry, someone had to do it.)

(Maybe Al Davis would trade for Maroney for a stapler and some pencils.)

he was an udfa, i'd like to find our own udfa jewels instead of trading a pick and paying a high salary to one. Hard to get value when you do that.

anyway, someone was saying the saints weren't really that high on him, kind of frustrated with him. maybe he only looks all world when he's playing against us?

Nice running back, would love to have him on the roster, just not for a #2 pick in a really deep draft.

I know a lot of people want to see us trade one of those #2 picks for immediate help since we have several, but we could legitimately land 4 impact starters in this draft. It's hard to imagine trading one of those for a back that isn't a significant upgrade over what we already have.

Looked pretty good in the playoffs, too. Moves, power, low pads, we don't have that combination right now. Faulk comes the closest.

they can draft a RB in the 2th round and the pats don't have the same run blocking Oline that saints have so he would not look as good with the pats.

NO. thomas SHARES the backfield

he has bell to the last quater runs
3rd downs they use bush

so you want to give a 2nd to get apart time player.

we have 4 picks

i see
a center/gaurd - position of need
3-4 DE

If your willing to drop a #2 on Thomas, why not go for Jonathan Stewart. Carolina needs picks more than 2 quality backs (Williams and Stewart). With loss of Peppers, release of Delhomme, cutting DT Lewis, the Panthers are in full rebuild mode. Stewart is an animal, better than Dillon in my opinion ...and just what the O could use. Achilles issues may push him onto the market, but scare off trade partners as well. My binky, regardless.

Wes Welker says hi.

With Matt Moore being the starter, they're going to lean heavily on that run game. Plus both backs are injury prone, so they need both.

Nice idea, but you'd be able to hear the laughing all the way to Foxboro if you offered a second round pick for Stewart.

And we don't have RBBC?

Nixing this idea because the Saints have a RB trio is crazy.

Mike Bell.

He's got a right of first refusal tender on him.

Worth a look?

He's a tough runner and young as well.

Mentioned that a few weeks back. He'd be a better option than Morris, and possibly Taylor.

If we had fewer holes to fill, sure, but as it is we have bigger holes at DE, OLB, WR, TE, etc. We would be foolish to use one of those picks on a RB when we can sign a guy to share carries like Bell if need be.
