With 20-20 hindsight, it was obviously a mistake to get rid of David Thomas.

But offhand, as we sit on Day One of free agency, I'm not thinking of a bigger example.

Daniel Graham maybe

I don't get your point. I don't think too many people are concerned that the Pats are letting Watson and Green and Hanson walk in free agency.

Enough with the negativity. :bricks:

Asante Samuel is exhibit #1.

There have been a few for me. Givens and Graham because I enjoyed how they played, and Asante (the player) and Branch more because they were missed on the field the following season. Those are the obvious four.

Pioli and Dimitroff. If they were still here, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Hobbs, for the fact that the kick return game was non-existent this year.

Deion Branch and Asante Samuel were not worth the money and the Richard Seymour trade was a great deal, as I did not see him returning to the team.

Also people like to say how Deion "cost" us the Super Bowl in 2006. The team scored 34 points in the AFC Championship game, it was just the start of one too many frequent defensive collapses that would come to be.

I don't think I regret any of them leaving. Some are close calls and I would have rathered to keep guys like Graham, Givens, Hobbs but I wouldn't say it's a big regret.

I was happy to see Samuel go and Branch netted a great return for his childish decisions in '06. Seymour was a good deal.

The ones who I miss as players I don't miss as value.

Uncapped years are funny, but IIRC there still weren't franchise tags for both Wilfork and Seymour.

Asante I wish had been signed a while before he hit FA. Asante and his agent outgambled Pioli on that one. But by the time he hit FA he was too expensive.

I hated losing Grahambo, but his price was steep. I guess he and Asante are the close calls for me.

Hobbs was let go for far too little I thought. We really missed his returns last year and he could've been an upgrade over Wilhite as the nickel.

Jabar Gaffney is definitely worth the 2 or 3 M a year that he is making in Denver. I'm sure we will replace, maybe even upgrade him, but there's still uncertainty there and the lack of WR depth hurt us last year.

That's about all for me, lots of players I miss but most of them were getting money that they were not worth to us IMO

Asante Samuel
Curtis Martin
Ty Law

Gaffney. To be fair at the time I thought Galloway was an upgrade. Going back further Curtis Martin for sure.

Graham

They've been wasting draft picks and signing FA's to take his place, yet they all suck.
After all the TE wheelin and dealing they don't even have a TE

Anyone else is down here somewhere..............

That's funny, because when Graham was here he was considered to be an underwhelming first round pick...

hank poteat...haha. nobody really. im regretting we have no pass rush.

Asante Samuel is first on my list

you're kidding, right? For $10million/. That's not good value, dude. Some ppl just don't get running a business...
