He is not worth that money. He was good for us, but he is not worth that type of money. Take into account half of those sacks were vs the Bills who had one of the worst o-lines in the league.

LOL.
He is absolutely worth 4.5 million per year. Look at what Jarvis Green makes.

Reiss' Twitter:
FYI: Tully Banta-Cain received a $6 million signing bonus. Wow!
Please God tell me this is a sick joke.
$4.5 per year?!?!?!?!!?
If this is the case I have lost all faith in BB.
You mean "made." Green is no longer a Patriot.
agreed, i love tully. but he is not worth 4.5 million a year, especially over the next 3 years. that is ridiculous. the guy has a breakout year after a career of mediocrity and you give him close to 15 million? didnt the patriots learn anything from the bruins and tim thomas?
i love BB more than anyone, but he makes you question a lot.
per national football postVeteran free agent outside linebacker Tully Banta-Cain has agreed to a three-year deal with a maximum value of nearly $19 million, re-sign with the New England Patriots, according to a league source.
He received a signing bonus of $6 million and will be paid $7 million in the first year of the deal.
If escalator clauses are triggered a $4.5 million annual value could go up to $6 million per year.
Banta-Cain is the top pass rusher on the team.
For his career, he has registered 204 tackles, 22 1/2 sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles and four pass deflections.
After being released from the San Francisco 49ers, Banta-Cain re-signed with the Patriots last year.
He made an extremely strong return during his second stint with the Patriots, starting 10 of the 16 games he played in and totaling a career-high 10 sacks with 55 tackles.
Now, he has some long-term security as an established player with a new contract.
You are correct, my bad.
I can't believe people think this is a lot of money for TBC.
The mind reels.
That's chump change in today's NFL...
Kevin Faulk and Jarvis Green both made roughly that amount last year. It's the going rate for a quality situational player/top backup/maybe starter/good on special teams guy.
Not a huge fan of TBC being counted on to be the main pass rusher on the team, but it's not a bad contract
Please God tell me this is a sick joke.

Jack,I'm sure someone can find a way to complain about this.
