I am hoping by the end of the weekend we can take care of Faulk, Wilfork, Brady and Bodden with new contracts.

Let the dust clear after the weekend and start evaluating potential RFA. As we all know with extra picks we have an opportunity to get a player via restricted.

thoughts?

they should sign them IMMEDIATELY! Especially Bodden before he goes elsewhere.

Im getting a little antsy over the Wilfork situation, it was encouraging hearing Kraft mention they were close, but its been Zero since which makes you wonder whats been going on. Are they just hammering out final numbers or have things taken a turn for the worse, time will tell.

If Bodden starts visiting other teams I think he is all but gone, hes not going to take a cheaper deal just to prove himself, he already proved he can still play at a remotely high level. If and when he starts to visit other teams the chances of him returning to NE take a big hit.

Im not worried about Faulk I think they will eventually reach a deal with him, not worried about Brady there is till plenty of time for him.

TBC I think will stick around, he had a horrible go with SF. His best football comes out in NE.

I agree with Bodden, the more teams that are interest the more worried I am of him going else where. With him gone we dont have a number one corner and our corners would be Butler, Wheatley, Wilhite, Springs...terrible.

Besides Butler MAYBE, I dont think the Pats even have what you would call a #2 corner.

Absolutely right. Bodden and Butler is so much better than Butler Springs/Wilhite/Wheatley

I agree with Bodden. Young, can serve as a mentor to players. Wheatley, Butler, the kid Wilhite. would be a nice young unit with Merriweather, Chung, Sanders

Yeah they do. His name is Leigh Bodden. If he goes, we don't have a #2 corner. I'm hoping we have a deal on the table for him sometime in the next 72 hours. If not, we're using yet ANOTHER draft pick on a DB once again this year.

Patriots are going to lay back and sign no one this offseason.

When next season ends the Patriots will find themselves behind the Jets and the Dolphins.

BB is an idiot who relies on the draft and over the hill veterans

shake my head

Well right now Bodden is not officially a Patriot, hes a free agent. And if reports are correct that hes planning out his visits today, I doubt he resigns with NE if he actually visits there other teams.

Which would be inexcusable. Going into off season we knew that we had the potential to resign Bodden, which would then take care of the need of a corner. Not resigning him would obviously make CB a need and when you just add another position to the long list of needs this team has it isnt really a good sign. There are only so many draft picks and FAs that a team can add in one off season

If that's the case hoping for Ghee, Haden or the kid from bama *sorry working overnights* Kareem Jackson?!

Doubt Bodden will be coming back, we let him hit a market where CB are hard to come by. He will probably sign for more than he is worth.

So the Patriots pass rush is non existent and now we have a depleted secondary. No TE's. Whats next, we trade wilfork?

LMAO, the thought of Crable and Woods as the teams starting OLB's scares the **** out of me lol....

you are not alone. Crable is made of glass and will probably get injured in the pre season again and Woods is a special teamer! No Pass Rush.

We can bring him back but we are probably going to have to overpay a bit, he had a solid season and is the second best corner in the market so he won't be as cheap as he came last season.

not sure why so many think bodden is this steaming pile of awesomeness.....

he's not

He was our best corner last year and name a corner that is available that is better than Bodden

Crable will probably have a violent sneeze in July and break a couple of ribs.

He's a very solid #2 CB but that's about it.
