I know it is ESPN Page 2 BS, but they list the Pats' 16-0 banner of one of the lamest banners in sports. Yet this banner collection doesn't even get mentioned in the column:

Some sports banners were never meant to be raised to the rafters. Help Page 2 find the lamest sports banner anywhere. - ESPN

At least the Pats were one play away from going 19-0.

Is this even a question? It's the COLTS. They're the babyfaces of the NFL, the team that could do absolutely no wrong. ESPN sucks their nutsacks because of Manning and the fact that their fans are, for the most part, a bunch of fantasy football nancyboys (you know? The people who give ESPN the vast majority of their ratings) who will jump off that bandwagon as soon as Manning is gone or they start sliding. As for right now, they have to washing the ol' balls.

There is nothing baby faced about Colt Fans. Except for their missing teeth and abnormally large foreheads.:D

BTW, the Saints' sellout banner listed may look lame on its' face, but when you factor in Hurricane Katrina and how that city was devestated and how much the Saints meant to the city after the city was virtually destroyed it is a very meaningful banner in my eyes. If that banner wasn't for a season the year after Katrina, then it would be lame. Since it was the year after, it was actually a touching sentiment.

We really should all know by now the only reason articles like that are even written is because the New England Patriots are mentioned. The only reason that article even existed was to wait until the end and show that banner. Otherwise, what's the point? Showing a bunch of goofy banner on the WNBA or some random canadian hockey teams? They got the weekly/monthly jab in our boys to push their meter, and and now here we all are griping about it. Exactly what they wanted.

Gotta agree here. I really would not have cared if I had never seen this article.

Its BSPN, what do you expect. They have gay love for Peyton Manning and the colts.

And while we are at it, I'm sick and tired of every NFL Network Promo ad dissing the Pats by showing a Patriot player either getting knocked on his a s s or giving up a reception or something similar. They never show the Pats doing anything right; they only show the Pats in negative plays which must make all the Patriot haters very happy. Time for that *%&@ to stop, imo.

Id say its about time our boys stepped up and won another title. And all that changes. They'll be galloping back in on the white stallion again.

i think espn must embrace their own lameness. otherwise, how do you explain their content. they are idiots on so many levels. with their sexual harassment, east coast bias(code:blind ny love) spin city mentality, distortions, misleading of facts and zero journalistic integrity, they are a hot mess.

Re: How did the Pats' 16-0 banner this list and not the Colts' banner

16-0 is lame.

Nonsense. It's never been done before, or since.

I don't like it being up because unfortunately when I look at it I don't think 16-0 I just think of the Giants and failure. I don't like divisional banners either. Super Bowl banners or nothing.

I have no problem w/ the banner. It bothers me when I look at it, but for reasons that have nothing to do with the classification of 16-0 being an empty achievement.

I agree with you about the Colts, but the Patriots 16-0 banner is lame. I cringe everytime I see it in the stadium.

That 16-0 banner is awesome. No team in the history of the NFL has gone 16-0 in the regular season.

The Fins went 14-0 but who knows what would have happened if they would have played 2 more regular season games.

I don't understand Patriots fans not being proud of that season. If I wasn't a moderator I would say that those who aren't proud or think the banner is lame are spoiled fans and need to grow up. But I am a moderator so I won't say that.

Yes, I was disappointed with the SB loss like everyone. But putting it into prospective now, it was an great season.

I wonder if the people who think the 16-0 banner is lame were also the ones that though the Colt's tanking of the regular season game was a good idea.

The Patriots went for it. They played their hearts out all season and finished without a regular season loss. If this were a frequent accomplishment that many other teams had done, then I would agree that it was lame. But it wasn't.

I think that what the Colt's did in the regular season was ***** B.S.! I think what the Pats did in '07 was flat out awesome and the right way to play sports. And the banner is simply an honoring of their accomplishment.

And another thing, **** ESPN!

I'm with Tune on this, it had Never been done before. And util someone else goes 16-0 or better it should stay. BSPN can laugh all they want bit the SB ha been won 44 times, only One team has gone 16-0 in the regular season

Honestly, they probably would have ran over two more teams. I've watched a good amount of coverage on that team for the past two years and they were just flat out dominant in the trenches. Combined with Czonka, I think they could have very easily went 19-0.
