ESPN News update regarding Patriots and Peppers

Seriously at this point I'd welcome it. That would free up the Patriots to take HB Mathews of Fresno St and a WR and DL in round 2. That would be the haul of hauls for draft day minus the Welker and Moss deals.

I've been hearing so much about Peppers' "questionable attitude" and hot/cold motor I'd just as soon the Patriots pass him by. Sounds like another Adalius. Plus, he's never left North Carolina, where he also grew up and played college ball.

$12 Million a year minimum?

Unless the Carolina beat writer I heard who said that Peppers' desire for money over all else is very overrated and he isn't really nearly as motivated by money as some think, I am beginning to think that it is very doubtful that he is coming here. I might be willing to go the Elvis Dumerville route and give up the first and third for him or see if McDaniels would take something else in trade. Granted the Pats would have to get a third to do it.

This is not new information ... why a new Pepper's thread?

The video isn't dated but I know it's from the last couple of days. I mean I wouldn't exactly write this thing off. It's funny how the entire Wilfork deal has gone completely hush so if that is already a done deal then why wouldn't the Patriots at least look at Peppers? All you hear about is the OLB Patriots proto type......well there ya go AND they keep their picks and trade some into next season maybe. The story just keeps going.

It was obvious the Patriots were kicking the tires on Peppers last season.

Where there is smoke.........

Never doubt BB's love of veterans.

Figure this, what is Thomas due this upcoming season? Factor in him getting cut and the Patriots signing Peppers. I don't think it would exactly be a cap busting deal. I just love the possibilities it would leave the Patriots with in the draft.

5'11....Something tells me that he may not be BB's type of OLB. I certainly wouldnt give up a 1st and a 3rd. Maybe and that is a big Maybe, a low second.

Why would Denver trade their best pass rusher? How did Elvis's name even get into this discussion?

Love to have Peppers but Not at the price tag some are saying.
12M???? no way PATs pay that amount. IMO

No not at 12 I'd agree there. In the 8-9 area with some money moved around here and there then I'd be up for it. Your getting a finished product and like they always say Belichick knows EXACTLY what he's getting.

That is worth paying a bit extra for. Ask the Jets about risky round 1 picks (Gholston).

I'd rather give up a first and third for an unhappy Merriman in SD. Don't think Dumervil is even close worth it, and it's doubtful that Merriman is worth it with the concerns, but if we are going to give up a 1st and 3rd I'd much rather it be for Merriman.

Dumervil is a restricted free agent. He's also a pass rushing DE in the 4-3. Similar to Peppers except that Dumervil in a LOT shorter and makes Peppers look like a behemoth against the run..

Well it's no secret that the Patriots are going to get SOMEBODY to rush the passer. One reason I can see the Patriots "NOT" getting Peppers is they no longer can sell FA's on coming to NE to win a Super Bowl. That was a long time ago when they did so the only way they can do it now in my opinion is to PAY THEM.

Peppers goes to Chi Town or Philly. I'd bet Philly because they seem to have a legit chance to get to the Super Bowl.

Too bad there isn't another free agent named Sausage out there...then we could sign both and call the D the "submarine sandwich D"...everyone gets a sub every time they sack the QB

I prefer to eat more often than 10 times/season.
