Re: Bills will release T.O.

No surprise..........

Re: Bills will release T.O.

T.O and Moss on the same team would make for a funny reality show.

Re: Bills will release T.O.

No NFL team is going to put Randy Moss and Terrel Owens on the same roster, and the Pats are certainly not going to go with Owens over Moss.

As muzz said, the Bills' decision to not offer Owens a new contract is not surprising. The team's performance didn't improve any with him there, and he has a history of becoming a distraction after two or three seasons. Signing veterans near the end of their career makes sense if you feel your team is close to a championship and that window of opportunity is closing, but that's not the case in Buffalo. It makes more sense for Buffalo to take the money and playing time that Owens would have received, and give it to younger players instead.

Re: Bills will release T.O.

Owens not doing well with the bills was not at all is fault.

Mii thoughts exactly... Can u imagine Brady throwin some balls to him... Either Moss or TO will draw double coverage (maybe both???) and havin mini wes in the middle...

Re: Bills will release T.O.

He's a year older than David Patten.

Yeah, but he's T.O.
He's. T. O.

Seriously though, if the man took to a better attitude, BB might take a look if, of course, the price is right.
It would be a dream tandem, though. Moss and T.O., that is.
Even if they are a bit past their prime.

When was the last time time TO had a legit injury??? Yea he has mentioned bout being tweaked throughout the season but has he... Or was he just upset at his team... TO keeps himself in great shape throughout the offseason... Dont get me wrong, im not sayin sign him for 9+ million... If he comes at a reasonable price, y not...

Re: Bills will release T.O.

No thanks, lockeroom cancer, old and a horrible case of the drops.

If we had any interest in T.O. we would have got last year, when he was a year younger.

Re: Bills will release T.O.

I'd prefer Derrick Mason if we're looking at veteran WRs.

Dream tandem? There's no way the two could co-exist. Owens would be counting exactly how many passes were thrown his way every series, and as soon as Moss' had more he'd throw a tantrum.

This has nothing to do with Owens' health or even his price. There is just no way having him on the same team as Moss would work due to ego issues.

Buffalo may be the first time in his NFL career that Owens' didn't tear the team apart on his way out of town.

Release him? He's going to be a free agent anyway. They're just not offering him a new contract before free agency starts. Read the story.

Anyone know how T.O's price tag approx.?

The market is perfect to pick up a player like TO. He will not command top dollar. He is also familiar with the AFC East.

TO and Moss on the same team would be SICK.

If BB could sign him to an affordable short term contract why would he not add a player that could help the offense blow things up like never before.

Those two on the field would give D-coordinators absolute nightmares.

BB could draft some young recievers and have them learn from two of the best recievers of the past 10-12 years.

I say TO will be a Patriot soon.

Signing TO would also recharge the interest in playing for the Patriots.

Last year he had a one-year $6.5 million deal with the Bills

Prior to the 2008 season he signed a 4-year, $34 million deal with the Cowboys after he was set to make $7 million with Dallas that year. He got $12.9 million to sign and an $830k base that year.

In 2006 Owens signed a 3-year, $25 million deal with the Cowboys. He got a $5 million signing bonus and $5 million salary in 2006. If my math is correct then that means he got $8 million in 2007.

So that means in terms of real (not cap) dollars, Owens has received $10 mil in '06, $8 mil in '07, $13.7 mil in '08, and $6.5 mil in '09. Not sure what that means how much he'll be asking for, but I wouldn't expect it to be cheap. I'm guessing he's going to want at least $5 mil or he won't play at all.

Im going to say this really slow so that everybody understands......NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm gonna get thrown under the bus for saying this, but I wouldn't be opposed to taking a one year flyer on Owens. I don't see what we could possibly lose by doing this. Imagine pairing Moss and Owens up across from one another with Brady at quarterback. I could easily see Owens coming in there and behaving for at least one year while he tries to close his career out on a good note. This is Moss' last year with the team and it would probably make him happy to have his buddy and another stud receiver to take the attention off of him and Wes a little. If the O-Line holds up injury wise, and Brady improves even a little from last year, I don't see how this team would be defensed. Essentially it would be a no-lose situation in that if Owens does start to act up, we could give him the 2005 Eagles treatment, deactivate him, and keep him away from the team. I'm also taking into account that this year is likely going to be uncapped. With all of this in mind, I don't see why we wouldn't.

While the fan base seems divided about this, it's a sure bet that the league would be absolutely giddy about TO and RM on the Pats. TV revenue would soar for Pats games.
