Tannenbaum delivers Jones sendoff? - NFL- nbcsports.msnbc.com

Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said Friday that "nothing has been finalized" on a decision regarding Thomas Jones' future.

Tannenbaum did little to quell reports of Jones being on the outs, basically delivering a sendoff: "All I can say is I'm really fortunate we traded for him three years ago. He's done a lot of great things for us on the field and even more off the field." It's looking more and more likely that Jones will be released.

Yes. If he brings Leon Washington with him.

He's over 30, and in the decline of his career.

Sounds like our type of RB.

Yeah. BTW, if you sign the beast, what number do you give him? Will the NFL allow a three-digit jersey number?

Sign him. Also, sign Curtis Martin and Blair Thomas. They're pretty well rested.

Except he is a "young" 30 since he hardly played early in his career, Unlike LeClassy Turdlinson, who is effectively finished at 30 given the wear and tear he seen in 10 yrs

Good point, DB55. He was in the same draft class as Lewis and Alexander. At this point, he has about 300 less career carries than Lewis and 100 more than Alexander.

He may not be cooked at those guys but hes not far off.

Alexander's problem was running on a foot that wasn't ready for it. Players need to avoid doing that, in any sport.

That an Hutchenson split for MN and his FB Mack Strong blew a disc. But yea, clearly he didn't call Bill Walton for a consult.

I would take LT or TJ over any of the can o' corn RB's we have right now (not Faulk-he is a hybrid).

LT over Maroney?? Don't think you fully grasp how done LT really is...

TJ over Maroney? If money and age wern't an issue, I'd choose TJ of course...

He is going to be released, reported by Adam Schefter today.

in the decline of his career.

Thomas Jones (2009)

Rushing Yards: 1,402 (Career High)
