I don't have ESPN insider but here's the link:

He would certainly help the Patriots secondary... :rocker:

pity his contract is astronomical.

It would never happen, but what if Asomugha and Revis were on the same team?

You could run a 4-5-2

I would trade my right arm for a pure Grade A Ty Law, Revis, shutdown corner. The benefits of having someone blanket another team's #1 and close off a 1/4 if not 1/2 of a defensive backfield cannot be factored in enough when determining value to the defense- especially one with an anemic pass rush.

He'd be someone I'd consider moving Wilfork for if a deal can't be made here to keep him - hands down.

But that contract MUST be renegotiated as it relates to cash, out clauses, etc.

I think I remember them joking about that at the Pro Bowl this year and then a bunch of rumors sparked up about how the Jets were going to try to get him...

That's right. Asomugha & Revis joking about it...... Raiders conveniently spread information they would be willing to trade Asomugha = Jets tampering.

Aso-gate Roger Goodell. Come down on the Jets with furious anger :D

If I were the Jets I would seriously think about it. I know it would be insane amount of $ at the CB position, but you could trade a couple picks and Bart Scott who's salary is high. It would revolutionize defense in the NFL. You could have crap for LBs and Safeties, because both sides of the field would be locked down.

Considering that Nnamdi is one of my favorite DB's of all time (almost up there with Law, not quite as close with Rodney), then my jeans wuld be covered with cream if we somehow obtained him.

Your corners are as good as the pressure applied by the pass rush. It's not like Oakland has been absolutely terrible on defense.. it's more the offense has been so pathetically bad that it's manifested in the defense.

I would actually consider that as well. I would love to have another strong player in the secondary again.

It is my understanding that unless Asomugha seriously restructures his deal and takes a major discount (like giving up $4-5 million), he cannot be traded to the Jets under the CBA. Asomugha's contract makes him untradable without a new deal anyway.

I'm gonna say no. Al Davis will probably want a lot (he can't be THAT senile, but you never know) for one of the best CB's in the league, and at his age of 29 with his contract, I would decline. Revis and Asomugha would be a horrific duo to face with that pass rush the Jets have. He'd have to renegotiate his contract, but would the Jets be willing to give up even more draft picks? I could see a team like the Ravens going after him.

Having their #1 pick next year, I strongly encourage this . . .

So the deal turns into Seymour for Asomugha? Still a solid one for the Pats.

Too bad it couldn't have happened last year straight-up.

I would take him in a New York minute, but I just don't see any way the team could take on his contract, Brady's contract, and/or Wilfork's contract along with any other expiring contracts and free agent moves that might be upcoming. Sounds like a pipedream to me.

It was all a dream.
Used to read Word-Up Magazine.

You know the rest. ;)

Vince Wilfork traded to lineup next to his old partner Seymour in exchange for Asomugha and we go to a 4-3 :)

oww, are the raiders stupid

so u first sign the guy to the most expensive deal for a db ever...and a year later want to trade him?

Worst NFL organization by far. FO, ownership, coaching....

For those of us who knew the Raiders from the early 80's it's kinda sad actually.
