I think this was inevitable, with Eagles drafting a running back last year.

Wonder how him being released affects LTs free agency value.

Who will teams target first?

If he can stay healthy, Westbrook is better at this point, cause LT is physically spent, he just doesn't have it anymore.

IMO LT has a better chance of the one last hurrah season (a la Corey Dillon's first year with us) than Westbrook. I think LT lost a step more due to the collective toll the position takes on a player where as I think Westbrook has a specific problem with his knees.

I would stay away from both and it is too bad because they each had styles that would seem to be a great match here.

Lt is done. Stick a fork in him. Westbrook's e-light is on, but i'm sure there is a team out there that will give him a shot, just not the Pats.

Neither of them is done, but neither will ever be a feature back again, look for both to get Kevin Faulk type roles with teams, if Faulk leaves (hope he doesn't) Id be fine with either one or even CJ Spiller or Dexter McLuster in the draft.

McCluster isn't going to be a RB in the NFL, he will need to be a WR who maybe runs a little out of the wildcat. He's far too scrawny to be even a 3rd down back in the pros.

Haha at 5'8 you honestly think he's going to be a receiver? NFL weightrooms can add 10lbs to your frame in just about 8-10 weeks. Oh and Darren Sproles says what's up?

I'm guessing you've either never seen McCluster play or you have a difficult time imagining what Sproles looks like. Sproles is 2 inches shorter and 20 lbs heavier. More to the point, he is compact and fairly sturdy (like Jones-Drew). McCluster doesn't have that body type at all. His legs are like twigs, and that's a hell of a lot of squats he would have to do to even come close to having sufficient lower body strength to be an effective NFL RB.

He has a much better chance of being a slot receiver (used on screens, like Welker) than he does a scat-back. Frankly, I don't think he will have much success at all in the NFL except as a gadget guy.

Putting him in the same discussion as Faulk, Westbrook, Tomlinson and Spiller is ridiculous.

Wow! Guess you were right. I didn't know he only weighed 165 pounds.

He must have alot of speed/talent because our highschool runningbacks are bigger than 5'8" 165...

Haha, all I watch is SEC football and being a Gator fan Ive seen far too much of McCluster. Sproles is about 2 inches shorter and 10lbs heavier. Coming out of college guess how much Darren Sproles weighed? 181lbs Dexter McCluster will probably show up at the combine at about 172lbs at the max. He can carry around 185lbs and thats probably what he will be at 2 years into his NFL career. His frame is no where near maxed out. Just because I said he would be in a Faulk type role doesnt mean he would be Faulk, if you think he would primarily be a receiver thats fine but your probably wrong. He played at 165 against SEC defenses and like I said he could be about 175-180 going into his first NFL game if he wants too. The feature back in the NFL may be going the way of the dinosaur. As the running back position becomes increasingly specialized and more and more teams pair a bullish short-yardage back with a dynamic open field runner, opportunities are opening for versatile "mighty-mites" like McCluster. Considering his size, McCluster is, not surprisingly, very elusive in the open field. He also possesses the vision to exploit small creases in the defense and an explosive first step to break free.

Due to his low center of gravity, good balance and underrated strength, McCluster is also a much tougher runner than his size would indicate. Possessing good hands and the quick feet to gain separation as a route-runner, McCluster helped his cause lining up as a receiver at the Senior Bowl. With the spread offense gaining steam in the NFL, the multi-dimensional McCluster has the skill set to immediately improve an NFL team as a runner, receiver and returner.

Hmmm, sounds alot like...DARREN SPROLES!

Yeah i don't care about the weight so much, but if you look at McCluster and Sproles, Sproles looks a lot thicker.

Another thing is that if you watched the senior bowl McCluster took a big shot and fumbled the ball when he was used as a running back.

He's one of those Percy Harvin kinda guys that you use in a lot of different roles, but they can only take a certain amount of handoffs in the nfl. Harvin only had 15 carries in the reg. season this year.
