I have nothing against her (seems very nice) but is she really representing VW while he is negotiating with the Pats? I've tried to research who his agent is, but can't find one. I don't know her educational history or if she has a law degree but all I could find was that she was taking college courses online and is a college graduate (don't know the level). Certainly admirable but.....

Who is Bianca Wilfork, and what is she most famous for?

On the surface, from a negotiating, financial/CBA, contract-standpoint the Wilfork camp seems ill-equipped to deal with the Pats properly (I'm a college-grad and have a financial background and I'd hire an agent!). My assumption is that is the reason why players hire agents.

I know Tedy represented himself and essentially took a below-market deal to stay here. Seems like Vince has no interest in taking a below-market deal. Not sure if Bianca is driving that line of thinking. Inquiring minds want to know! Surely he can't do doing this to save a couple of bucks in fees?

Thoughts?

Without wishing to offend Vince (meaning i'm about to)

She is getting on my nerves. Imagine living with her.

I only have to put up with one tweet every few days whinging about something or talking about what other people have been paid.

The reason Vince isn't getting paid is we are in financial uncertainty, we are able to franchise his ass for 2-3 years and we don't even know if there is a lockout in 2011 or not. And without being funny, Vince's size and his family history is a bit of a worry for a long-term 6-year contract.

And her *****ing about Janikowski getting a big contract from Oakland is ridiculous.

Number 1: He is in Oakland. I'm sure if Vince was there, he'd be getting a $400m, 20 year contract. But he's not, he's in New England with a sensible owner and top head coach.

Number 2: Janikowski is probably one of their top 3 players along with Nnamdi and their Punter, Lechler.

Yea I saw Breer's article this morning which incorporated her tweet on Janikowski's contract and it got me to wondering beyond the normal spousal support, what her role was.

So shes a big "tweeter" huh? Just checked her on Facebook. She has 603 friends. WOW.

She had some periods with no tweets.

Then comes back with quite a few in a row.

I'll have a look and see what I can find from her old tweets.

Well, she didn't like waiting in the airport at 5.30am after the Colts and Saints games.

Join the club... I didn't like waking up after those 2 games.

Ty Warren has changed agents, switching from Vann McElroy to Kennard McGuire, according to the NFL Players' Association website. McGuire also represents Vince Wilfork and Shawn Springs. Interestingly, Wes Welker also used to be represented by McElroy; within the last...

She seems to be a big part of Vinces life, know she worked hard with him to improve his diet.

I think this tweeting thing is a cancer. Takes well meaning (we hope) people that might be just a little chatty and puts the unnecessary statements on the record where people are forced to respond.

At least his agent isn't named Jerry.:D

From the Globe article on Wilfork according to Adam Kilgore:

Efforts to reach Kennard McGuire, Wilfork’s agent, were unsuccessful yesterday.

But make no mistake about it, Bianca will have the final say on whether Vince shows up, signs on or whatever...

After all, she wears the pants in that house!

Thanks Mo. Didn't catch that.

Never knew he played for the Pats. Interesting....

He did negotiate Colvin's deal so there does appear to be some history of dealmaking.

I'm getting sick of "needing to care for our family". A BJGE contract could care for a family and you'd be very wealthy. Vince and Bianca just want to be supah rich.

She runs the show for Vince now.

This i get from all the interviews he has given over the years . He attributes alot of his success to her.He also mentioned after the first 6 yr deal which the pats kinda backed him into signing she has taken a proactive approach.

He even said he was on his way to eat himself out of the 'U' before she turned his life around and getting a grip on his eating habits.

Also, 2 yrs ago when he got really out of shape and he attributes her to the change in diet to more healthy diet and alot of help to keep his weight down . He came to camp 2 yrs in a row in good shape and has improved his game .He says his 2 probowl years due to the new regime she has put him on. Got it from his diabetes charity he runs after he lost his parents to diabetes and over weight.

I cannot comment on his relationship i do not either of them but from the vibe i get he wants to play and she takes care of him in financial and health point.

I also do not under the crazies who are talking about taking a paycut. how many i wonder go to there boss and say they need a pay cut. I do not understand the whole
he is worth what the pats offer and not a penny more either. Why shoud he not test open market.I wonder how many of these guys ever looked for a new job making the same money and did not want a pay hike.

A wife handling contract negotations?

Bye bye Vince

Christ, no kidding

I dream of someday having a salary to pay me a million dollars over the course of 10 years! The rich people sob story about needing to take care of the family and a simple sum of money like 15 million not being enough disgusts me.

Why should he not test open market.
Because unless he finds a team willing to trade a lot for him, he won't be on the open market once he's Franchised. Sorry, Vince, you're stuck here for the meager salary of $7M.

Boo frickin' hoo.

"very evil laugh"

I chuckled at the bold. I'm sure you meant regimen and not regime. For those of us who have been married a while, I sometimes wonder if it is a regime. ;)

No way Vince should take a hometown discount. I'm sure Vince is smart enough to realize that he has a good situation here.

Like I said, I don't know her. My angle is her inexperience in negotiating with a billion-dollar corporation. But since my original post I have learned that Kennard McGwire is his agent, I can at least gain some comfort that VW representation has dealt with the Pats before and he had success in striking a deal.

Where is anyone getting that Bianca has any more say than any other man's wife in his career decisions?

This thread came completely out of left field for me, I don't get it. Are people hung up because she's tweeting?

I started the thread b/c I thought she was playing "front-woman" in negotiating with the Pats. Didn't know Kennard McGwire was VWs rep. I've since learned that shes an active spouse beyond helping Vince manage his weight. In addition she said that she is essentially Vince's business manager.

I do find it odd how she was "tweeting" regarding Janikowski's contract. My impression is that most pro-football spouses stay out of that part of the business -at least publicly.

No, but it's been pretty well established for some time now that Bianca has long held a position of tremendous influence and clout in the Wilfork household. She basically runs Wilfork, Inc. even if it employs an agent. And that is actually a good thing since she's out more than 3% if he holds out...which to date in two contentious situations he has not...and he is even less likely to on the eve of a potential lockout season.
