He's stupid/disrespectful because he wore a hat whilst singing the National Anthem? Seriously?
Hell, I served for eight years and I occasionally forgot to take off my hat at a ball game.
The things we get in a twist about...
This is true. I can't even begin to count the number of %$^&((&^$ Americans who sit on their butts and fail to take off their hats when a color guard goes by during a parade, or when they rise to sing the National Anthem, or at least listen to it's performance.
I've given up on trying to change people's attitudes. You would think, however, that Americans would have a little more respect towards the flag that represents their nation and freedom.
If you are a veteran, then you are permitted by law to remain covered, provided you render a military salute to the colors, or while the anthem is being played. That was a recently passed Federal Law (2005, I believe). I do that, since it's a privilege I earned through service.
Respects,
In civilian clothes? That's ******ed.
But if that's the case, and I'm allowed to wear a cover during the anthem (when I should know better than anyone), whereas someone else is "stupid" and "disrespectful" for doing the same thing, well, that kind of illustrates how dumb the whole thing is.

Respects,
Fine then, have another beer and keep posting. If that's your attitude, then there's no use continuing the discussion.
