The chief has reupped for 5 years... Nice for him, but what about the uncertaintiy of the leauge he runs..???

Awww crap!!!
Will the NFL survive his nanny mentality?

So you guys would rather have a commissioner who lets this league descend into lawlessnees? You don't think that'll have any impact on its popularity? The NBA has image problems which have hindered (in comparison to the NFL) its profitability. There are currently no steroid scandals like there are in baseball.

I don't get the hate for him. Has he done anything worse than Tagliabue?

Another league happy with a terrible commissioner at the top. :bricks:

Mr. Gooody good staying in the office...Yay.

NFL overseas can suck it

NFL draft on Thursday can suck it!

If the owners didn't like what he was doing, they wouldn't have extended him.

Owners kept Tags in office, too. Ask them how they feel about that now.

I wonder what the vote tally was.

32-0.

When you compare the job he is doing to his peers...commish of NBA or MLB, he is doing a pretty good job. Or would you rather have Stern as the commish.

Stern is a much better commissioner.

Good for him, I have no issues with the guy.

Not a fan of Goodell, but what surprises me more is the timing of this... admittedly without reading the article, was his contract up or did he still have another year and they extended him early? If it's early, why not wait to see how the labor talks end up progressing? Seems to me that has a chance of going south on him.

I don't like him, but I respect what he is doing. He is very good at his job.
