Shanahan is looking to draft and develop his own QB.
I don't know what else they need but by them taking a QB, this leaves one more player who can drop to us.

Link?

.....

It was on Pro Football Talk. I will choose not to give them a link.

It was on one of the SKINS boards as well. They were talking about it. They even had a poll on which QB to take.

So, fan speculation amplified by a gossip blog vice any real news source... :gossip:

Well yea, I am thinking the Jets trade him Clemmens for there 2nd.

Clemmens is a seasoned savvy vet, perfect for Shanahan. IMHO

:)

Washington has a second? Then clearly they will trade with NE for Isaiah Stanback.

Shanahan must think that the sack problems were due to Campbell holding onto the ball too long last season as opposed to the O-Line.

Actually, how about trading Maroney for Redskins third round pick ?

I recall Shanahan indicating that he wanted to trade back into the first round to take Maroney after they drafted Cutler. He also said that Maroney was the best back in the draft that year.

Hopefully he hasn't watched any football in the last three years.

Maybe we can trade Hoyer for a 2nd:D

If I were Shanahan I'd grab Tarvaris Jackson out of free agency and use the draft pick for someone else.

They might actually do that... because the Redskins don't have a 3rd round pick. (Used in supplemental draft)

What ? In 2011 draft and beyond ? okay, you've right they'll be lucky to get a late round pick in 2020 draft for Maroney.

For what, water boy?
TJ is awful :bricks:
I don't think Hoyer is going anywhere.

Hoyer looked solid...... no way we trade Hoyer.

Of course we would trade Hoyer, if the price were right. Thing is he has value to this team as Brady's backup that likely well exceeds any potential trade value at the moment. As was the case with Cassel for the all 4 years he was the backup.

Shannahan's forte isn't QB. He gets enamored with the gunslingers and then struggles to control them. The only time he succeeded was when he inherited a guy already headed for the HOF. This should be interesting since you really need an above average QB to be relevant in this league at this time...

In an ideal situation, Bradford and Claussen go in the top 10 to 15. Maybe Jacksonville takes a flier on Tebow in the first, but I doubt it.

OTOH, it seems like there will be a lot of guys available later who could upgrade the Skins' O-line whereas Bradford would not be available later. That's assuming that 1) STL doesn't take Bradford #1 overall, and 2) that the Skins' own medical staff believes Bradford is healthy enough (or will be soon).

Heh.

Anyway, Shanahan's M.O. is to build a run-blocking O-line that even a concession-stand guy could get yardage running behind.
