It's odd, but this Super Bowl has really energized me as a Patriots fan...

Since our last Super Bowl, every season has ended in a way that made me feel AWFUL. The Steelers winning, Peyton losing the choker status (if only for one year), The Game that Shall Not be Named, and then the Steelers winning AGAIN... you can't have a worse stretch of finishes, outside of the Jets winning it all.

This year, despite the considerable work that the Pats have to do in the offseason, ending it on a relatively positive note has me feeling pretty good.

Bring on free agency and the draft! I'm ready right NOW!

Well said, I share your feelings.

I'm still giddy over yesterday. I'm crazy giddy over the Colts collapse. I skipped into work this morning with a smile from here to central Indiana. :) :)

Yesterday was a big win for the Pats and us fans. At times, I felt like we were the only team to experience overwhelming game ending disappointment (games shall not be mentioned), so it's nice for the blue and white fan base to share our pain.

The only bummer about yesterday was that SD and Pitt experienced our same joy, but who cares. That Porter Pick-6 changed alot of things, that will have nasty, long-term, lasting effects on the Colts and their fans for years. Tyree will never leave our minds and now Porter will never leave their minds and it has kind of given us a whole new breath of life hasn't it ? Bring on Free Agency and our 4 day one picks and all the mock drafts, let's keep this party going............

Damn I'm giddy right now, what a day I've had.............

What's even more ironic is Porter went to Indiana :singing:. Talk about a homemade dagger !

onwardsto FA and Draft. Pats can't afford to screw up this draft.

I'm psyched to have the Colts at home and Pittsburgh away. If we really want to reassert our dominance, we have our chance.

That itch requires Caladryl....

I'm anxious to see how they approach this off season.

Will they re-sign Vince Wilfork?
Will they go after the only two big name free agents (Peppers, Dansby)?
What is their plan going into the draft?

I didn't think we played the AFC North until 2011. Isn't it the Bengals that we have away?

Nope, we got the North again this year.

Home: Ravens, Bengals, Packers, Vikings, Bills, Dolphins, Jets
(The final spot will be filled by the AFC South team which finishes in the same spot in the 2009 standings as the Patriots)

Away: Browns, Steelers, Bears, Lions, Bills, Dolphins, Jets
(The final spot will be filled by the AFC West team which finishes in the same spot in the 2009 standings as the Patriots)

(The bolded) Ohmygod:eek: I can't even imagine how much that would've totally sucked.

I've been smiling all day too, weird considering last night had zero to do with our boys; I never thought I'd feel positively giddy after a non-Patriots SB but I did! Such a great feel-good ending for the city of New Orleans, the team, it's fans, and it was an awesome game besides! Plus it was almost like watching the Manning we once knew and loved  I used to love when he got all that Gilette sod stuck in his helmet LOL:D All in all it was a pretty fine SB.

I'd love to see the Pats recover some of that underdog spirit they had a few years ago and that we saw last night from the Saints.

That's pretty strange. I thought we got the AFC North and NFC East in the same seasons along with a place schedule. I guess I still have a little bit to learn about the scheduling process.

I'm actually looking at the post-season with interest and optimism in seeing what football department and roster moves the Patriots make.

Say, can someone open a new thread on "2010 draft for NE" ?

I do not have enough time on this board to open one myself...

There are only three AFC divisions we can play (because we can't play ourselves), as opposed to four NFC divisions. So we play the NFC divisions on a four year cycle and the AFC divisions on a three year cycle.

It was nice watching some of the best QB's in the game choke games away... makes you appreciate #12 and can't wait to see what he's got for next year with a year under his belt post-injury.

Well here is a toast to brady not choking at home next year in the post seson and manning not choking in the superbowl 45, when we get there.:D You can say what you wish about manning but do not blame him for that game other than the pick which could have been him or Wayne or both. manning did his job he just did not get enough possessions, and our rookie coach finally got outcoached. The special teams got caught with their pants down and the defense (as I feared) could not get any deflections or interceptions or pressure on Brees. Brees played his butt off and the Saints made only one mistake that entire game which was neutralized by the Colts. Next year we will have marlon jackson, Tyjuan haglar and Bob Sanders back and it will make a world of difference as well as seasoned rookies. Manning will get another lombardi if not next year in 2012 in Indy.

Yeah, Manning got the ball with 5 minutes on the clock needing a TD to tie the game. Let's all pretend he didn't have enough chances and that his pick 6 didn't seal the Colts fate. How delusional can you be?

Brady had a better season last year while recovering from an ACL tear then your boy had in 2008 when he was absurdely named MVP. I look forward to you guys being one and done in the playoffs once again as Peyton has mastered that art throughout his career. I really wouldn't count on a fully healthy Tom underperforming in the postseason again.

Can't wait to see what new rules Polian pushes through for 2010

well...first,if a QB throws an INT in the Super Bowl from now on the ball will be spotted a the point of the catch without advancement...

and next I'd like to make sure all DB's use only one arm to tackle WR's after the catch...

YOU TELL 'EM, WILD BILL!!

Yeah but you'll probably only get Sanders back for two weeks before his little body breaks again. :D
