Think back to the 2008 draft. I think it was obvious the Pats wanted a CB after losing Asante and is why they took Wheatley probably sooner then they wanted being a need position. The next best CBs available at that time were Brandon Flowers and Tracy Porter. Either one would of been a huge help and maybe change the outcome of a few games.

Funny thing is, Tracy Porter isn't that great.

Flowers, OTOH, would have been a tremendous pick.

"Would have been" if what ? I don't get the point here. "Would have been a Patriot" had we taken him ?

Regardless, his work is done. I am very happy today that he's a Saint.

Wait a minute.

Flowers was drafted 35th overall. Porter was drafted 40th overall. Wheatley was drafted 62nd overall.

So what's the point of this thread?

Perhaps if we hadn't lost the 1st rounder because of spygate, we could have grabbed one of those guys?

Super Bowl 42 feels less painful now..... Now Colts can experience a SB loss.

it hurts.

I'd like to thank Peyton Manning aka Mr .500
for his sick pick six. B/c the Colts blew it I can be
the smug SOB of old. Thank you Peyton.....

Should I thank Payton, or Brees???

Great win for the SAINTS.....

awesome vibe now from the Katrina aftermath.

I am so happy :):):)

The point is, that if the Omissioner hadn't stolen our own first-rounder in '08, then Tracy Porter would've been a viable option with that pick; though I agree with you that Brandon Flowers would've been my first choice instead.
