For not letting Brees break the completions in a SB record by throwing the pck 6 that iced and kept Brees from throwing again.

Yes indeed. i pointed that out in the game thread as soon as it happened.

Totally forgot about this.

I remember when the stat came up on the drive I grudgingly said "Ah, well I'm going to have to accept that record being broken for the Colts to lose tonight"

Colts lose AND Brady keeps that record. Awesome.

Same here, bro. I actually said, "well, if he has to break it to beat the Colts, then I'm good with that". Still, helluva game by Brees though. He was a surgeon tonight.

I'm sure Brady wouldn't have minded losing the record if it meant he would get another shot at breaking the new one

But the pick 6 was a great way to retain the tie for the record. Really just posted it for the irony

I really think that both Qb´s sucked.... only that touchdown pass by Peyton was worthy....everything else was just too modest, way too careful...

Both teams played a dink and dunk passing game, looking for the open man. In that regard, both played pretty good games, but that is what the NFL has become.

It did feel nice seeing "ties SB completion record" under Brees's name in the postgame ceremony.

Brady's already impacted 2 SB's now that he didn't play in. Coin toss in '05 and mentioned multiple times last night. Can you say LEGEND

hardly

it's the SB

You can't expect to just go in and walk all over the other team

Brady cares not a whit about such records. Only record that matters to him is winning the SB. I had hoped for three straight from him starting this year, but maybe next year will be good enough.:bricks:

Is this a joke? Brees was damn near perfect after the first drive (Colston's drop on the 2nd wasn't his fault)

Peyton played a HECK of a game until the pick-six. Some of the throws he made under pressure were amazing. And he was on the money all day till that pick.

Let's not get crazy with the Manning love. He basically threw 2 picks in that game (1 was saved by his receiver committing offensive pass interference), and had a 3rd pass that would have been a pick if the throw had been on target (pass to the sidelines where the receiver had jumped the route but the pass was too far up the line).

 He didn't throw it on target so that it WOULD'T be picked. You're grasping for straws here. He was great up until the pick, you're straight hating if you don't think so. Picture perfect throws off his back foot, every pass was where it needed to be. Look at the #s even with the pick it's still a pretty good game.

After his first 2 drives, and the end of the 1st quarter, he put up a grand total of 7 points. That isn't good by any measure, mch less great.

Okay after the first 2 drives which were superb:

One drive ended on a perfectly thrown pass that should have been a first down.
2nd drive was 3 straight runs.
3rd drive was a TD
4th drive was a missed FG

Can you point out any instances on those drives Manning really could have done any more for his team or thrown better passes? He was on his A game until the pick, I don't know what game you were watching if you didn't see how well he was throwing.

Congratulations to Drew Brees for battling his way into the top Quarterback conversation with grit, determination, and most excellent sportsmanship.

I'm sorry..... when did the standard method of completing passes to the sideline become throwing incompletions on purpose?

He threw it wide so that either Wayne catches it or it's knocked away. Really don't see why you're making a huge deal out of that pass or labeling it a virtual 2nd pick.
