He is just trying to get people talking about him. If he honestly believed Manning was better, he would have given a reason. Which, he really didnt. All he said was that its not about the rings, Brady has not been the Brady of old and Manning has not been bad in a big game in years. But, Manning has not won a championship in 2006, in which, as we all know, he had 3 tds and 7 ints. I respect and understand anyone who feels Manning is better then Brady. JUST PLEASE DEAR GOD HAVE A VALID REASON!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if Shaughnessy does any call in shows? I thought he did a samll one on 98.5, but cant remember. I would love to call in and question him on it.

Shanknancy, Assorotti, Bob Cryin? What are you 4 years old? Wait, don't answer that.
You know, you've been a member for a week and all you've done is complain about the people who post here. You have no demonstable football knowledge, only the questionable ability to whine and complain and correct people's spelling.

There is a place for that, but it isn't here. Please go to the asshat forum and post there. Thanks.

This entire post is correct, aside from one part. I'm going to call out homers as much as I can, just as they attacked posters who don't chug the koolaid. You are more then welcome to put me on ignore. I understand.

Hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion, even if you don't even bother to try to support it. Shaughnessy remains the laziest writer around.

Dan can't remember the last time Forehead rolled snake eyes in a big game. Hmm, I seem to remember consecutive one and dones, both home losses against the Chargers in the 07 and 08 play-offs. In 2008, the Greatest Regular Season QB of all time amassed 17 points against an 8-8 San Diego juggernaut. I guess someone forgot to add those to the GOAT scrapbook.

Paycheck had a great year in 2009. But at least a little longer term perspective might be helpful here.

Like I've been saying, if Brady bounces back next season and has a better year than Manning, either statistically or by advancing further in the playoffs, then Brady will be the better QB. The media is all about the "Flavor of the Month". See Manning in '06 (which I actually thought was Brady's best year as a QB at the time) and then Brady in '07.

i certainly don't remember espn ever calling brady the best EVER.

Manning deserves the edge if you consider this year he had absolutely NO running game and he is in the Super Bowl.

not sure who's a bigger football 'know nothing'.

Jerry Callahan or Shaughnessy (well maybe muzz)

Let me guess.... the article mentions the Red Sox or a RS player and ties TB to him?? I refuse to read it.

This is what kills me about this arguement, and its the type of thing that I hear alot from people, and alot of the times its comes from the so called experts. They make a point that is not valid. This would be a great point to make if the same did NOT apply to Brady, but it does. Brady has been to and won the SB with a running game that was equally as bad as the Colts is this year. First of, total rushing yards is not a good measuring stick since some teams run less then others. Like the Colts, with a QB like Manning they are a pass first offense. This season the Colts ran the ball fewer the all teams in the NFL but 1. Average wise, they averaged 3.5 ypc and were ranked 30th in the NFL. In 2001, with Antowain Smith at RB the Pats averaged 3.8 ypc and ranked 23rd in the NFL when they won the SuperBowl. In 2003 the Pats averaged 3.4 ypc and ranked 30th in the NFL when they won the SuperBowl, which is the same as the Colts averaged and ranked this year. The one big difference between the 09 Colts and 01/03 Pats, Brady did not have the receiving weapons like Wayne and Clark that Manning has this year. So I think its safe to say that Brady was handicapped more then Manning.

Don't you ever, EVER present a logical position when debating certain issues on this board. You will be dismissed as a HOMER, which is only slightly worse than a pedophile.

Speaking of Manning, one of the reasons the Colts chose him over Leaf....

The Colts were conflicted enough over their decision that, just days before the draft, they actually posed a simple question to each of the quarterbacks:

If we were to make you the No. 1 overall pick, what's the first thing you would do?

Manning briefly mulled the question over before telling the Colts he would request their playbook so he could immediately dive into learning it. Leaf listened to the question and told the Colts he would head to Las Vegas to party. And for all the intensive scouting and film work they had done, the Colts had their answer.

Heh.

With an easy as hell scheduel.

You again with the easy schedule huh?

2010 NFL Strength Of Schedule

The Colts had the 11th toughest schedule this year. Not the most difficult, but not easy either. Is a schedule that was in the top 3rd in difficulty "easy as hell?

Do you do any research before you say things or is it just "Colts bad..Patriots good" all the time with you?

This. Up untill week 4 everyone was crowning Sanchez as the next elite quarterback.

Not discrediting Peyton, hes damn good, but the media is full of ballwashing. Selling 'popular' ideas is what makes them money.

I think that's how it is with most of us. Colts fans, for the most part, are the exact same way.

Yeah, the Pats had a bad run game in 2003.

What was their D ranked?

What was it ranked in 2001?

What was it ranked in 2004?

The offense wasn't the backbone of those Pats SB wins. The D was.

If you're going to talk about "logical positions" at least be honest.

And as far as the Colts losing to an 8-8 SD team last year, remind me what the SD NE score from 08 was again?
