Re: Ross Tucker:Why Manning is a better NFL quarterback than Montana, Brady

Well ... just when you thought the pissing contests in the forum were over.

So who will be the 2 or 3 contestants in this thread battle ... let's get ready to rumble. :confused3:

Re: Ross Tucker:Why Manning is a better NFL quarterback than Montana, Brady

On and on we go.. hopefully all this talk is going to fuel the Saints anger.

Re: Ross Tucker:Why Manning is a better NFL quarterback than Montana, Brady

All of these articles are amazing

They all hinge on the concept that Manning gets his second ring Sunday. I don't mind people saying he's the best of all time, knock yourself out. It's just going to be funny to see everyone back pedal on the subject if the Colts don't win

Re: Ross Tucker:Why Manning is a better NFL quarterback than Montana, Brady

I really couldn't care less about the Brady/Manning debate. If someone thinks Manning is better, good for them. Personally, I can see a strong argument in his favor. If I wasn't a Pats fan, I might actually be on the Manning is better side myself.

I say we wait until both their careers are over and talley up everything and figure it out. Right now it is just media fodder with them bouncing back and forth on who is better. Manning loses Sunday and Brady wins it all next year and all the media will be back on the Brady is better kick.

Yup ... gotta think this is huge motivation for Drew Brees.

Not that he needed any but a little extra never hurt anyone.

The media used to be good for the Super Bowl ... now they pretty much kill it.

All these supposed experts are way more wrong than they are right - and they get paid for it.

Let's face it, we're going to have put up with these arguments until Brady puts up another monster year, numbers-wise, AND wins the Super Bowl for a FOURTH TIME, now that Manning will be at ring #2 come Sunday.

If Asante Samuel had caught that MF-ing INT in the Super Bowl, there's no way in hell we have these conversations right now.

But really, for Brady's legacy, he needs ring #4, he really does. There are just too many people out there predisposed to hating the Patriots and loving the goober Manning and being a sucker for his BS image he's created. And same goes for Belichick. These two guys, Brady and Belichick, truly would have cemented themselves as the best of all time at their respective roles if not for the craziest f**king drive in football history in SB 42.

Now that you say it ... I agree ... what a jerk he was.

You said it. After seeing the replay of that drive for the first time, Goober was the luckiest QB ever to put drive like that together. He nearly fumbled, had no less than three passes dropped that could ahve been INTs, and relied on Tyree to make that crazy catch. Ugh, the torment.

If Manning doesn't win on Sunday, does that make him Marino to Brady's Montana? Sure, Marino had incredible numbers. So has Manning. But if he chokes on Sunday, that is the comparison people should be making. I know Manning has one and Marino never did win the big one, but 3SB to 1? Brady's postseason record vs Manning's? Come on...

Re: Ross Tucker:Why Manning is a better NFL quarterback than Montana, Brady

I'm tired of this topic. Everyone saying manning is the best when he has been his worst at the biggest moments. Manning and his colts are like the Atlanta braves with there run in the 90's, great in the regular season and average when it matters the most. 12-4 is a great year but not really so much when you got the most talent and go home early like has been there MO every year but 1 like the braves. Save all your stats manning lovers he's got to get 2 rings before he gets 3 and then we will talk more about this.

i agree. people have to stop worrying about brady vs. manning and worry more about the pats vs. the rest of the league. last time i checked, the team is called the New England Patriots, not the New England Tom Bradys. We are pats fans first and foremost. if someone else thinks manning is the best ever, then fine. there's probably someone else out there that will think montana is.

but i do agree that the manning love fest this week is annoying. the media has made it into a peyton manning (and dwight freeney) vs the saints super bowl.

Manning mentioned at the same level as Montana is ridiculous. Do I really need to read the rest of the garbage?

How is that ridiculous?

Like it or not, in 10 years time, when people talk about the 5 best QB's of all time, Manning, Brady & Montana will all be in that conversation.

So yeah - they're pretty much at the same level...

Maybe premature is a better word. Even winning this weekend will put Manning halfway towards Montana. Also Montana was absolutely brilliant in his SB appearances (~10 TDs, 0 INTs).

Maybe Manning will get to 3 or 4 rings, but let's not anoint him already.

i agree with OP who say if the pats won that SB and went 19-0 brady would be the greatest QB of all time. hands down. but right now Montana, is still #1 and manning and bardy are #2 and #3 and untill one of them get 4 rings montana. will all ways be #1

Here is how I've seen every TV analysis for this game

Analyst 1:
Yeah, the Saints [insert positives]
...but, I still think the other team has a guy by the name of Peyton Manning.

Analyst 2:
LOL! ahahaha. YES! PEYTON MANNING! THE GREATEST.

Analyst 3: (Also known as Mark Schlereth) Peyton Manning's brain is like a super computer translating the defensive code.

It is no different than the lovin' Captain America got before beating Philly or losing to the NYG.
It's a long 2 weeks...gotta write something!

Re: Ross Tucker:Why Manning is a better NFL quarterback than Montana, Brady

It's all much of a muchness to me this "Greatest Quaterback Ever" stuff. The reality is I would be happy to have any one of the three quarterbacking my side because they are all as good as one another.
