Isn't the OP of this thread the SAME GUY who made a thread 2 weeks ago before the divisional playoffs, stating the Jets and Colts were to LOSE those games?

You are putting BAD karma on our hopes, man  ;)

Yes I did. And I'm sticking to it.:rocker:

I got my bad out of the way early so now I can't be wrong.

If Freeney were healthy, I would pick the Colts to win by 2 touchdowns. Without Freeney, I think this game is a toss up.

The Colts blew out the Saints two years ago, in large part bc Freeney dominated Jammal Brown. They have Bushrod now, who may be the worst left tackle in football. With his speed and power, you couldn't draw up a player better than Freeney to exploit Bushrod.

Due to his lack of height, Brees isn't as good dealing with the pass rush as Brady or Manning is. He struggles seeing downfield and starts backpeddling, which is why he fumbles a lot. But when he isn't rushed hard, Brees is extremely accurate and throws the ball downfield as good as anyone. His arm strength is underrated.

A Colts defense with Freeney is just about designed to stop the Saints. They live and die by the big play, the Colts scheme is designed to stop that with their speed. Bush would be overmatched going up against the Colts' speed, just like he is when he faces most good defenses in the NFL. They have historically had problems with the Cover 2 since Brees has gotten there, including losing to the Bears three straight years.

But without Freeney, the Colts' defensive coordinator is actually going to have to scheming to stop an opposing passing game, which is something they are not used to.

heh...could've predicted the preceding post in my sleep

scared to death and ALREADY setting up the alibi...how can Indy be in the "heartland" when their fans have so little heart?

Oh, and the REAL reason why the Colts will win the Super Bowl:

BECAUSE FOOTBALL HATES ME!

I feel like I sold my soul to the devil in order for the Pats to win three Super Bowls. After all, since that SB39 win, the following teams have won......

Steelers (absolutely LOATHE this team)
Colts (hate this team)
Giants (at the devastating expense of the Pats, and bye bye perfect season)
Steelers (again, absolutely LOATHE this team, I want to invent a new adjective for Extreme Hate to describe my feelings toward them)

so the Colts will probably win to continue this rotten trend

This is funny because I made a topic (on a different board) very similar to this a few weeks ago and we seem to have the same exact thoughts:

Topic: Will this be another evil season?

Here are my top 5 most hated teams

1. Colts
2. Any team with Brett Favre on it.
3. Jets
4. Steelers
5. Chargers (I actually had to root for the Chargers yesterday by default . . *shudders* Sad)

2005 Steelers won the Superbowl
2006 Colts won the Super
2007 Giants won the Superbowl and ruined our perfect season
2008 Steelers won the Superbowl

2009 Now we have:

The Colts
The Favres
The Jets
The Saints

It looks like this will be another kick in the crotch season for ol' InRodWeRust. As if the offseason isn't bad enough this just adds salt to the wound. It looks like the odds are against them but I'm going to be the biggest Saints fan the next few weeks.

Love how most Colts fans believe the Saints are just not that touph. Even thou the Saints offense, being #1 and with the hardest schedule of all the teams in playoffs, has way out performed the Colts #9 offense. Im guessing the Colts #18 ranked defense is just going to be to much for our poor midget QB, damn if he only had 3 more inches we might have a shot.

I dont think you understand, the media might have us all but dead, but there is no better indicator of who will win then C.A.T. scoring spec's.

if you don't fear this team is really boarders on silly.

I do respect them. They are my 2nd favorite team in the league besides the Colts.

But I've also watched them enough to know who they are. They have a left tackle who can't block anyone, and would have been overmatched. They are a big play team going against a defense with a lot of speed. Brees' efficiency away from the Superdome don't match his home numbers, which is in contrast to Manning who has arguably played better on the road. They have struggled against the Cover 2 since Brees got there. They haven't been the same offense since Shockey got hurt, even losing at home to the Bucs with homefield advantage on the line.

But without Freeney, all bets are off bc the dropoff is going from the best pass rusher of the decade, to a guy who shouldn't even be in the NFL in Keyunta Dawson.

its Freeney below Allen the same guy who we stuffed, and if you look on this list isn't smith #5. I think you better worry more than me, smith isn't hurt, and he will get to manning.

NFL Stats: by Player Category

see thats the problem Im seeing with the colts,,, way over confident. They dont even know our players or like manning bother to say Sharper first name right. Jamie ?

All Manning does is watch film. I can guarantee you that he knows quite well that Sharper's name is Darron; that was just an interview slip-up. Far more is being made of it than it should.

I'm not as dire about the loss of Freeney. It hurts a little, but it's not the game-changer everyone is making it out to be (if he does indeed miss the game). The Colts will still find ways to pressure Brees.

I'm interested to see which Saints show up on Sunday; the 1st half of season/Cards game Saints, or the last half/Vikes/Brees rattled Saints.

It should be a pretty good, high-scoring game...

na, I agree with you on that, but you do know now sharper is a little tic'ed.

Problem is if the #1 offense shows , no one can stop it, thats a huge problem for the #9 offense. How is the #18 defense in the NFL going to rattle us? Not trying to be mean, but common, be serious, your secondary is not good, and ours is pretty damn good. Greer has Revis #'s, what are you going to do when we hit you? Run #32 common now.

I would admit if a better team was facing us, and I did, ask these guys, but your not better than us and if your team believes that you have a big problem, thing is I believe your team does, and the media does also, all against the stats, dude the colts are the underdogs and I dont think they know it yet.

Truth is we are the #1 offense by a large margin with a #10 ranked defense #1 in takeaways. Al respect to you , here here to win

I agree for the most part. I think if both teams play their "A" game, the Saints win. If the Saints play like they played against the Giants or the Patriots this year, they win. Their secondary is more ball-hawking, without doubt, and better in coverage. If they can disrupt a few Colts drives, and Brees is playing well, I don't think the Colts win.

What the Colts have is the big-game experience, and Manning (who, right now, is a better asset than Brees, but not by that much). Even though Brees wasn't hassled much last week, he looked off - it looked like he had a case of the nerves. If that happens in the SB, it opens the door for the Colts...

Somehow, I think Peyton will step it up enough to compensate for Freeney's (anticipated) absence.

Relax. As much as it (really, truly) pains me to say it, it's gonna be a blowout. The Saints are just far, far, far "too happy just to be there."

The Colts have "been there, done that" in the SB and have suffered through enough tough playoff losses to the Pats over the years to even think of starting to celebrate before the clock reads 00:00 on Sunday evening.

There, I said it. Now, just be classy after you win.

your right, Im going to come back or come up with something creative, you right. If Brees does doesn't just play ball , we are done.

LOL, you didn't stuff Allen, you doubled him and he was still breaking through those double teams some. The reason Brees struggled and Payton called a "conservative game" is bc their pass rush was affecting your offense.

I have a lot of respect for Will Smith. I live in NO, I know the Saints quite well.

I didn't even realize you were a Saints fan until seeing it now. :D

I thought you guys would like Colts fans who make light of Hurricane Katrina along with racist posts (by a moderator, at that) to enjoy another SB.

This is the crappy truth.

This is the crappy truth.

na, the truth is we are being way underestimated in the media again. The Saints will come to punch the colts in the face. All of the stats our on our side by a large margin. There is really no reason why the Colts would beat the Saints, just doubt.

If you don't believe , then don't, but nothing on paper this season give the colts this game, everything gives it to New Orleans. I dont see how a #18 ranked defenses can stop the Saints offense, when we have creamed way better. And I do see a #9 ranked offense having allot of trouble when we have turned over the ball on way better.

Na, this is starting to look like a blow out to me for the Saints. They dont rank nearly as high as N.E. when we faced them, and still dont.

#1 pass offense vs. #26 pass defense = all that needs to be said.

This game will be high scoring, but Manning is going to rip that pass d apart. Hell, even old man Favre threw for over 300 yards. Manning will only do better, and you can bet that the Colts won't turn the ball over 5 times.
Just think about that, the Saints got 5 turn overs and still needed to kick a field goal in OT to win the game.

That just won't cut it against the Colts.
