So I'm driving to work today and listening to Sirius NFL Radio and who do I hear, TY Law.. He talked for a few minutes but he made a couple of points I wanted to share with everyone..

1. He rooted for the Pats during their undefeated season.> Wanted to stick it to Miami.. Also pointed out that he still felt part of the organization during their run. And rooted for "his boys"

2. A caller asked a great question "whats the differences between Manning and Brady".. Ty basically said Manning is his own OC.. and Brady Takes the play and makes adjustments on what he sees.. Both are great and something to the effect of being commanders in their huddles..

3. Still wants to play football next year

Funny part of the entire interview was he mentioned in 2001 during the SB he was really glad Adam kicked the field goal to win.. because the Pats "shot their load" and didn't have any more energy to go into overtime..

I gotta be honest here and say Sirius provides better material and information than our local stations.. No yelling or screaming.. Just great converstations with a lot of information..

Sounds like a more mature man then the one that left here a few years ago.

I like Sirius too. Especially during the off season when it's hard to find anything good to talk about NFL-wise. They go into some nice detail. The downside is you are forced to listen to known NY fanboys Peter King and Bob Papa. Not much Patriots talk on that channel.

It was clear that by late in the game the Patriots defense wasn't really going to be able to hold that tiger by the tail for much longer. That's what made Madden's comment about just sitting on the ball and heading into OT twice as stupid.

Agreed. You could tell that momentum had shifted and the Pats defense was SPENT by that last Rams drive. We HAD to win that game in regulation. Crazy to think that that game was 8 yrs ago to the date, tomorrow. Feels like just yesterday.

I've always liked Ty, despite all the drama from his departure. He also spoke out against Spygate in '07, he may have been defending himself and his 'boys' by intention, but indirectly he was defending BB also.

I like Papa a lot but I find it funny you say that about Peter King.. people in Ny say/think, even though he's a NJ boy, that King is fanboy of New England sports teams.. He lives in boston now, has had season tkts to the Sox for years and has a great relationship with the team and local media..

But any ways, I love sirius and its amazing how much material I found out listening to their programs..

You know, that's probably the best contrast I've heard between the two. Of course a guy like Ty who owned Manning and played with Brady would know this ;)

If I recall correctly the caller was a Giants fan and his 1st question was nothing memorable.. But the second one, regarding Manning vs Brady, was excellent.. Definitely a great question with a honest answer..

He is still one of my fav Patriots.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to hear the entire interview, but what I did hear was very good. Nice chat about what it takes to confuse Peyton compared to other QBs, and how Manning improved over time... obviously a formidable opponent.

Thanks for bringing it up.

Still love that mofo.

Glad to hear a former Patriot db with good things to say about the organization.

I echo what others have said about Sirius NFL Radio. Excellent station year round. Very little Pats talk from what I hear (granted I have a short commute so I don't get to listen as much as I'd like). The level of football discussion varies from the mundane (I think my team should take player-x in the draft) to real down and dirty x's and o's with guys like Jim Miller and Ross Tucker.

Though it is funny what people's perceptions are of various hosts. PK trashed BB for spygate, and never recanted from what I remember. He bashed Randy Moss for "dogging it". Even in light of video evidence to the contrary and a medical diagnosis which could explain some of that perception he refuses to take any of it back. A "New England fanboy"? Once, perhaps.

I wonder of Belichick would consider bringing Law back in a Seau type role next season.

He tried to bring Ty back for 4 years. Ty couldn't do it because in addition to the money, which he never made up, he seemed to need to prove to himself that talent trumped system. He failed. He could have helped here in 2005-2008. And likely made himself a HOF lock. As it is he's on the bubble. He was never a clubhouse leader, though. And like Junior proved last season, you can't really lead if you aren't playing.

I still see lots of a very young Ty Law flashing in my mind when I watch Darrell Revis in action,Revis is a bit better though - They even have the same number jersey to top that.
