Pro Bowl brings out the kid in Meriweather - AFC East Blog - ESPN

I am glad he had fun yesterday and he did have a good year,at least the first 3/4 of the season was good - I thought he struggled in coverage in December.

If only Meriweather could tackle better,he could be the complete package at Safety and he does have the talent to be the next Reed or Polamalu but he needs to learn to tackle and take down the opponent instead of diving attempts and trying to take the receiver's head off which doesn't work well with top speedy players and especially on good teams.

I think we shall see Brandon in more Pro Bowls and hopefully more improvements in the years ahead.

thats great, playing in the pro bowl and all that talent can really give you a confidence boost as a player hopefully he takes this and sees he could be one of the best and comes out and shows the entire league next year

Corwin Brown will really help him.

Yeah, let's hear some Cornflake looooooooooooove!;)

One of the highlights of an athlete's career, in any of the big team sports, has got to be his first pro All-Star game.

I say this not to be snide, but if he can learn to make the routine tackle he'll be a much improved player.

He definitely enjoyed it, look at how he came out after he was introduced

His tackling could use some improvement, but our LB's tackling issues are far more evident. It seems as if Brandon is required to make plays from all types of awkward angles AFTER he has done the job of containing a ball carrier from getting to the outside. He needs some help out there.

Coverage was not his problem. Communication and zone responsbility schemes were two of the areas he had trouble with, especially in the middle of the season.

Rodney Harrison was the master of the hard hit. He knew when to give the hard hit and when to tackle. Meriweather will pick this up in time- this was only his 2nd year in the league.

Meriweather has steadily improved every season, and I see no reason to believe that won't continue next year.
