It's early but let's do a 2 round mock just to see what people are thinking.

Using the ranking on this link NFL Draft - 2010 Draft Prospects - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

do the Patriot draft for the first 2 rounds. You can pick any player ranked 5 slots above the alloted pick for that Patriots or any player ranked below that pick. So at pick 22 you can pick any player ranked 17 or below but not above #17. So on and so forth.

Right now the Patriots picks are #22,44,47,& 53.

#22 Sergio Kindle OLB Texas- he is listed at 255 but I have seen one rhat shows him at 235. IF he is 235, I would go up and take Sapp.

#44 Rob Gronkowski TE Arizona some think he's the best TE in the draft- even better than a healthy Gresham because he can block.

#47 Jerry Hughes OLB, TCU double down on pass rushers

#53 Mike Johnson OG, Alabama Neal could retire and we need another horse inside.

22 - Brandon Graham (reach)
44 - Kyle Wilson (slight reach)
47 - Jerry Hughes (slight reach)
53 - Jordan Shipley (reach)

That's as per the CBS projections right now. I expect all of these guys to be moving up by Draft Day.

22-Sergio Kindle OLB Texas or JPP OLB USF, I cant decide
44-Damian Williams, WR USC
47-Terrance Cody, DT Alabama
53-Dexter McCluser, RB Ole Miss

#22 - Jared Odrick = Seymour replacement. Wright back to utility guy.
#44 - Kyle Wilson = Pushes Wilhite down the depth chart (or off roster)
#47 - Dexter McCluster = Given an efficient QB, mismatch on every play
#53 - Greg Hardy = If health doesn't check out, then Austen Lane

#22 - Maurkice Pouncey
#44 - Terrence Cody
#47 - Greg Hardy
#53 - Demaryius Thomas

Not ideal. These are my top targets, but I'd rather trade down a bit if we go after these guys. Meh. :snob:

Great thread, by the way. Thanks for posting!

22-Anthony Davis Rutgers
44-Brandon Spikes Florida
47-Terrance Cody Alabama (if Wilfork leaves, otherwise Kyle Wilson Boise State)
53-Jerry Hughes TCU (if we pick up a olb via free agency, than maybe dexter Mccluster Ole miss)

Golden Tate WR 22
Aaron Hernandez TE 44
Kyle Wilson CB 47
Jerry Hughes OLB 53

#22 - Jared Odrick, DL, Penn St

Huge, stout, has some pass rushing moves and productive as a NCAA player. Looks like the ideal player to move to a two gap DE. Very tough letting Dan Williams pass by but the Patriots have 26 DTs at this point.

#44 - Brandon Spikes, MLB, Florida

Good size and speed. Good coverage skills when necessary. Mean enough to pull a RB's eye out. If it weren't for a tough season, Spikes would be considered a top 10 pick easily. Plays his best games against the best opponents. Might be better as a 4-3 Mike but has enough talent to risk it.

#47 - Jason Worilds, DE/OLB, Virginia Tech

Raw but he has a great motor and good pass rushing instincts. He's declared a year too early and truth be told, I'd rather pick this player lower but I'm not enamored with the other OLB candidates available in the second round.

#53 - Anthony Dixon, RB, Mississippi State

Here come the pain train.

#22 - OLB Brandon Graham - Plays the run and rushes the passer, apparently very intelligent, picked up the schemes at the Senior Bowl better than anybody and loves his football. Sounds like a BB player.

#44 - TE Rob Gronkowski - I don't expect Watson to be back which leaves us a hole at TE. I pick Gronkowski because he is a solid all-round player who can catch and block, helping our offense in the passing and running game.

#47 - NT/DT Terrence Cody - If Wilfork isn't resigned and Cody slips this far, I can see us pulling the trigger on him if BB feels comfortable about his weight. Imagine trying to run against a line of Warren - Cody - Wilfork. This sets the opponent up with more 2nd/3rd and 10 letting Brandon Graham loose and go after the QB.

#53 - WR/RB Dexter McCluster - I can see BB going for playmakers and more explosiveness on both sides of the ball, and McCluster certainly fits the bill. My only concerns about him would be his lack of bulk and how his body would take the punishment of the NFL. That said, he seemed like a durable guy at Ole Miss. I think BB will fall in love with his versatility and how he could potentially create mismatches in the passing game and make plays, potentially like a DeSean Jackson type player.

All of u are nuts.Jerry Hughes is a first round pick.

22Jerry Hughes or Dunlap, whoever is available.
44Brandon Spikes
47Mardy Gilyard
53Dont know,lol

Pierre-Paul (Odrick)
Spikes (Cody)
Cody (Hughes)
Benn (Gilyard)

I gave my first and second choices at each slot.

Yeah, but Hughes was available at 50 with your last pick. You could have taken 3 other guys before him.

22. Brandon Graham OLB, DE
44. Aaron Hernandez TE
47. Terrence Cody DT
53. Jerry Hughes OLB

Why 44 instead of 42? The coin flip hasn't taken place yet, so we don't know if we'll have 42 or 44. It's relevant, since at 42 I would take Jason Pierre-Paul (ranked 37) and end up with:

22. Brian Bulaga, OT, Iowa (23)
42. Jason Pierre-Paul, DE/OLB, USF (37)
47. Terrance Cody, DT, Alabama (47)
53. Austen Lane, DE/OLB, Murray St. (77)

Then I probably end up with:

22. JPP
44. Terrance Cody
47. Vlad Duccasse
53. Austen Lane

I was kidding, its just funny seeing JPP that far down the list when we would be lucky to get him at 22.

Someone's going to slip to 22. Derrick Morgan, Carlos Dunlap, Everson Griffen, Jason Pierre-Paul and Brandon Graham aren't all going to go before 22. Morgan will go top 12, and I have my doubts about Graham as a 3-4 DE for us, but Dunlap/Griffen/Pierre-Paul would all be solid picks at 22 to play strongside DE/OLB.

Hey that looks familiar....I'll say

22. JPP
44. Rejus Benn
47. Alex Carrington
53. Austen Lane
