It looks as if both Jason Taylor and Joey Porter could hit the market this offseason. So, in honor of the "should we sign him?" threads, let's have a poll.

Taylor would be more of a veteran not every down backup and Porter would probably be an every down starter opposite Mayo.

Taylor would blend in well with this young defense while Porter who is younger could be a locker room guy.

Both guys have positive reasons to sign them but since I hate BOTH teams Porter has been on (Dolphins,Steelers) and don't care for him as a person,I would prefer Taylor on a one year only contract.

Is this even a question, Taylor without a doubt.

Joey Porter...

I still got hate from when I was in Pittsburgh. 'Cause I got cheated, both of them AFC Championship games. They been videotaping for years, man.

You can not sit up there and honestly tell me, if it wasn't worth it, why were you doing it so much?

Two times we could of blown them people out, easily. They say he's so smart, oh "he's the best brainstorming coach" yeah, because you're cheating! You got caught, if it wasn't so bad why'd you destroy the tapes so fast? That's my dynasty. I could be sitting up here with three rings. I played in three AFC Championships, won one, lost two. Just like they want to use asterisks on everything else, they have to asterisks on them.

Who they got on their team besides Tom Brady? It's not like they got a gang of dogs over there. Just a bunch of all right guys, no just real dogs like that.

I don't know last year, if they found a new way to do it or not, the boy cold. He showed us man, he's cold.

If Porter hadn't specifically mouthed off against the Patriots I would honestly want him on this team. He seems a lot like the Rodney Harrison type, which is something I think the Patriots are lacking. They really don't have much of an emotional leader outside of Brady.

I don't think either are required.

Suppose Taylor could be a stop gap for a year at OLB aswell as providing some veteran presence but neither get you looking forward to their contribution.

Joey Porter would never ever be allowed to play for the Patriots.

Porter is a loudmouth who has been vehemently anti-Pats and still thinks that Spygate cost the Steelers SBs in 2001 and 2004. He'll be 33 years old, didn't produce much this season, shot of his mouth more than he played, and got benched at one point.

Taylor will be 36 this season. He turned down an opportunity to come here last year, in part because after being a Dolphin his entire career he was conflicted about going to a rival, in part because he wanted to stay closer to his family. He got a deal which allowed him to avoid most of training camp to spend more time with his family, and before that he was as focused on Dancing with the Stars as he was on football. His one season with a different team was extremely unproductive. I don't see him having the drive to put in the work to learn our complex system in a hurry, and at his age there's a very small window to make any kind of contribution.

No thanks to both.

I would prefer Joey Porter.
Who cares if he talks to much??
At least he lets his game do part of the talking.
And he is a leader

The funny thing is, Porter will not sign with New England. In fact, I hope he doesn't sign with New England. I hope Taylor doesn't sign with New England.

I wish we had a Joey Porter type charichter here with the production he put up two years ago but I dont think it would be Joey Porter himself.

Im sick of signing these Fossils. Besides... porter HATES NE, and we hate him right back.

JT meh... stick a fork in him.

Joey's never been a leader. That's why Cowher let him go. He had talent, plays with passion, and he's mouthy, but he's also divisive and can't be coached to be a team player. The first time he refused to come off the field for Belichick would be the last snap he played here...

I went with neither.

Porter has an attitude problem. I would never want him. I say sign Taylor if we don't get who we want outta the draft

No one!!!I am sick like someone said of signing old hags!!
