Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

I disagree with Ryan's main point.

I respect Ryan on Basketball and Baseball but it's like his football articles are 100% wrong, and what's this Catholic guilt stuff in every article. Lord Forgive Them. Mea Culpa. Jeez, does he whip himself before writing a football article? I think he does. It's that painful to read this stuff.

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

Bob ryan omg, boycott the globe.
This is the craziest thing ever written.
How can he have the opinion that a 4 time mvp qb, who could hav gone 16-0 this year, has taken 2 different coaches to the superbowl is the best ever. Even though stats and the fact that he played great late in games this year, and has gotten better as he has matured, if hes not a patriot he cannot be te greatest.

We pats fans have become a parody, all running here to post non pom pom articles about the patriots, and bash the writer. Sorry to break it to some of you but i said it all year on gameday threads. Brady is getting favreitis. So much success early on had given him false confidence. He needs a coach/ coordinator that can reel him in. Hos knack for throwing late game int's became expected almost.

I was scared crap when manning had the ball late against us. I dont think brady did that to anyone this year.

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

peyton manning is better than tom brady

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

who cares? the patriots have been better than the colts over the past decade. that's all that matters.

And Drew Brees will be better than Peyton Manning next Sunday.

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

And Drew Brees will be better than Peyton Manning next Sunday.

I'd say that's doubtful. While I love Brees' game, he has shown big-game jitters from time to time, and the SB is the biggest there is.

If the Saints win, it will be on the strength of a better defense. I doubt Brees will out-play Manning...

my daddy is better than your daddy..!!!!

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

Brady had the upper hand for the first five years or so, now the last couple Manning has been better.

All in all, they're both great QB's but would give Brady the edge just because of Super Bowl wins.

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

As it stand Manning has been better but then you have to ask why. First off Manning has played in the same offensive system and has know only ONE OC his entire NFL career. Manning has always had familiar recievers around him which made it a lot easier intergrating new guys into their system

Brady on the other hand has had (to say politely) crap for WR's. He had a guy who worked in a factory (Patten) and scrubs at other times. The first time he got great WR's he broke records. He's gone through 3 OC's in his time so there are certainly factors in that discussion.

Right now though Manning would be considered the better QB no doubt.

Who has more SB rings? Who has the record for most TDs in a season? And then there is the fact that Manning has always had great WRs to throw the ball to and for most of his career, Brady had to make average WRs better than they actually were. Sorry, Troy. But its true. :p If Manning didn't have people like Harrison and then Wayne to throw the ball to, and if he didn't have arguably the best offensive line in the league protecting him, his stats wouldn't be so great.

teams win super bowls

not qb's

you have to look at players for what they do and what they are capable of.

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

well..Brady played under rules that were in effect for FORTY YEARS...since the Willie Brown/Jack Tatum/Lester Hayes days...the only thing outlawed was stickum...then AFTER Peytie Pouter LOST time and again to defenses that knocked his receivers off their blocks, Polian, using his clout on the rules committee, changed the passing rules four straight years in a row until they are what they are TODAY....custom made for Peyton's game and designed and pushed through and implemented by Bill Polian.

Therefore, even though Peyton Manning is NOW the best QB in the NFL, it really doesn't mean anything to anybody who's been a fan for a long period of time....as ANYONE saw...he couldn't play under the rules that truly great QB's like Montana,Young,Aikman,Bradshaw or Brady...in fact, he couldn't even approximate a Trent Dilfer.

So bang the cow bell, Dolt fan and har-yuck and knee slap your way down to the Hog Heaven Jamboree singing Camptown Races - Doo Dah...finally, your Paid-To-Fix-The-Rules-ning is number 1

he doesnt have close to the best line in the league protecting him

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

How often does Manning get sacked or even touched? In fact, how often do you even see rushers actually break through the line before the pass is thrown? ;) I also noticed you didn't touch the WR comment. :) You can't argue that Manning had waaaaaaaaay better WRs until Moss and Welker came along.

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

"Rings" isn't the greatest argument, on its own. Bradshaw is better than either, if that's the case (love Terry, but he isn't better than either).

With the emergence of Collie & Garcon, it also bolsters the argument that any receiver is going to look pretty great with Manning under center.

It's interesting the Brady's best postseason success came at a time when he didn't have the marquee receivers he has now...

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

I have no problems with the notion that manning is the better QB

but this issue gets way overblown

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

Manning is and has been better than Brady for the past 5 years....not by a lot but I don't know how you can argue with this.

Manning almost took this team with 2 no name 3 and 4th receivers this year to what should have been a 18-0 looking at 19-0 season....and not to mention WITH NO RUNNING GAME AT ALL.

Brady has been steady but Manning has been better and if he gets ring #2 next week, the debate gets even stronger.

On a Patriots web site you can't expect nothing but 'the writer is nuts' when Manning is proclaimed better,so this thread is biased and a waste of time IMO

Re: Bob Cryin: Manning is the better QB

It's interesting the Brady's best postseason success came at a time when he had a incredible defense with future hall of famers that lead the team

fixed. 10 char

I actually can and will argue that Manning makes his receivers look much better than they actually are. Heard of Garcon and Collie???

And go ahead and name just ONE colts receiver or tight end who had any amount of success that was close to what they had on the Colts once they left?
