Watched him get interviewed on PTI a couple days ago....bright, bright kid. Seems like a Belichick type of a player. Hey, if he is there in round 4, im all for it.

Saw an interview on PTI from Rolle sounds like a very smart polite young fella who has his priorities sorted and realistic - yet high goals and he sounds like the ideal sort of player I'd want in the Pats secondary, so what if he didn't make the big plays in college, it doesn't mean he wont in the pros does it?

BTW, Steuber also thinks that Taylor Mays' best pro position should be 4-3 OLB, ala Thomas Davis.

Whatever Mays' best position may be, it certainly isn't free safety. We were spoiled by Rodney Harrison, but the fact is that 6'3" 230# guys who fluid enough to live in space are very rare. Davis couldn't do it, Harris couldn't do it, and I doubt Mays or Chancellor can do it. And William Moore is still a question mark.

The big safety who does intrigue me is LSU's 6'3" 230# Chad Jones. I need to see more of him, but he may be that rare bird, which would make him well worth a gamble in the 2nd round if he's still available.

I saw Rolle on the sidelines, but didn't see much, if any of him on the field...

Just curious as to where you get the info that Rolle is a "widely know to be a 4.7 guy"? Supposedly 4.68 is the slowest he's ever run with a 4.48 being the fastest. And while he was studying in Oxford, he was training quite a bit for the NFL and the combine according to an interview in ESPN The Magazine.

I'm not knocking the guy here just reporting what I've read.
I like him, and hope he does run in the time he says he can.

He's my second favorite Rolle.

#1 is Esther, then Myron, then Samari, then Antrell, and after Antrell, the Rolles are no longer on a roll. Steep dropoff.

I would take a flyer on the guy with the idea that he could get back into shape and get that 40 time back down again

I take Scott Wright's guesses at speeds with a grain of Salt. NFLDraftScout.com does a better job of getting that sort of info.

Like all the other Draftniks, Wright is correct as much as he is wrong..

I think that Myron is a very intriguing player and prospect. We know how smart he is, plus he didn't pick up the extra wear and tear on his body. I would really give him a look, if he were to take over for Sanders i'd be ok with that. I just don't know what drafting him says about Chung, who I really liked out of Oregon.

I wouldn't take him in the fourth, would rather have Ben Tate or joique Bell at RB. I'd say safety is probably our strongest position behind OT. RB needs some youth and i think either of those two would be excellent additions, taking over for Maroney 1/2 through the year and taking the majority of the carries into 2011. I expect Merriweather/McGowan/Chung to continue to improve over the next year or two, and are already a pretty realiable group with Sanders stepping in to lead the youngsters. I don't think dropping higher than a 5th/6th on S would be a wise move considering the way the roster is currently constituted.
