King on D&H: Fit for Tebow, Pats?

I really dont understand why him and others think he would be the perfect fit in NE. He isnt an NFL QB, we dont need a QB right now. We dont run any gimmick offenses like the wildcat, I dont understand why this move makes sense football wise. The only connection I see is the Meyer-Belichick connection which wouldnt be a driving force for the Pats to draft Tebow.

Also, King mentioned that the Pats would be looking at Peppers and Merriman. I just cannot see BB going that route, I see him getting the pass rush help he needs through the draft.

Because King doesn't really understand our needs and our schemes, and because BB has said nice things about Tebow and Tebow has Pats-like intangibles. It would be a nice experiment to try if someone wanted to give us a free pick, but we have too many other important needs to take the risk.

I agree it would be a good experiment, but like you said we have needs that we need to address in the draft. If he is available when we pick in the 4th round, maybe I would consider it, but anything before that no way.

he has never addressed pass rush through the draft, except with the arguable exception of shawn crable

The pass rush hasnt really been an issue until this season...

Last season it weren't too great either.

2007 it was good in passing situations but apart from that, it wasn't brilliant.

We could do with at least one young passrusher. I'd say an experienced one would be nice as well, but that's life.

Although it wasnt great in 2008, it wasnt as big of an issue as it is this season.

I agree that it would be nice to get an experienced pass rusher, but I just dont see anyone out there that would be a good fit for the Pats. Peppers and Merriman I just cant see them here. The pass rush issue needs to be addressed through the draft

BB is close to Meyer. He has said positive things about Tebow. He must love him and want him as a player! King isn't doing anything here posters on this board don't do 1000 times a season (usually with a tweeting self promoting WR) but you'd think a national "expert" would add a little more depth than that.

The Pats have a number of holes to fill right now. Why would they spend a high pick on a Wildcat QB? Does he even think for a minute that every DC in the league is praying they make this move because every snap the Pats take out of the WC takes the ball out of the hands of one of the handful of greatest QBs ever?

Why aren't "experts" suggesting the Colts draft Tebow? Because only a fool would take the ball from Peyton and give it to Tebow even 5 times a game. The same is true of Brady.

If Dungy were the GM of the Seahawks, I would peg him for round 2 to Seattle, just because of the Christian thing.

Yeah, Michael Felger is really taking up Tebow on the radio today. I wouldn't select him in the first two rounds unless he can be a tight end.

I heard King on the radio today. What a bunch of babbling nonsense. He could barely string together a coherent thought. He has absolutely no idea of what he is talking about. He sounds like he is making it up as he goes along.

that's because it was addressed with veteran free agents - vrabel, colvin, etc.

Who do you see thats available in FA that would be a good fit for the Pats? There are not that many available.

I have always admired Tebow. I would love if Pats can have him. Second round or lower. Brady is not getting any younger. 3 to 4 years max. Be an understudy and then have him take over.

Go get him, Pats.

I am already tired of Tebow, his self righteousness and the Favre-like worship bestowed upon him.

Yes it was, Pass rushing is probably the biggest reason why the Pats didn't make the playoffs that year.

BB must like him because he is a "football player."

Seeing as how Tebow won't have a position to play in the NFL, that's about all you can call him.

He is a great competitor and a great college player. He is NOT an NFL QB. Definitely not going to be a 2nd round or lower pick for any team. The Pats will need to do a lot better than Tim Tebow for Brady's replacement

If the Pats wanted to run the wild card they already have a QB/WR for that, Julian Elderman. Why would they just not use him?
