It Is What It Is The Patriot Way or the Saints Way??

Any references to SB 42 or the week leading up to SB 42 make me want to vomit, so I thought I'd share some of that misery. Interesting take by Evans and how the two coaches are approaching the weeks up to the SB differently. In our case, I certainly doubt it had any outcome on the game. I hope.

Personally, I think Tomase's BS article leading up to it probably had more affect on the team's preparation (ie, canceling the walkthrough) than anything else.

I pick The Chicago Way a la The Untouchables.

NO is playing with house money. All the pressure is on Indy. They are having a parade in NO a week from Tuesday win or lose. The situation we were in going after a 4th in 7 seasons and being undefeated to boot was unprecedented. I think as hard as Bill fought to stave off complacency, it likely set in to some extent. Having two weeks off to contemplate what they had done and were persumably about to do was probably a week too much for a team that was probably more exhausted mentally than physically. Having their integrity publicly challenged again 48 hours before kickoff likely didn't help. I'm just a fan and I know I was negatively effected by the way the tenor of the run up to capping off that season changed in a careless, agenda driven instant.

The Patriot way has won 3 titles let's not forget

I agree 100%. If the players at all reflected the feelings I felt leading up to that game, then I can guarantee you Tomase's article and what ensued had an effect on the game. I bet I could dig up the post I wrote leading into that game - but I think the perfect word for it was "deflating". All the excitement and hype was destroyed, the potential of 19-0 suddenly felt meaningless in the face of another several months of the witch-hunt. This matches what I saw in the Patriots players, who did not have their typical fire at any point in that game.

I bet John Tomase takes great pride in playing a role in ending our perfect season. Man that pisses me off to no end.

The league had this all planned out. I am sure the last thing the NFL wanted was the hysteria surrounding a perfect season and Spygate.

After two years, I am beginning the think that Tomase played the role of useful idiot and disruption he caused may not have been what he thought would happen.

If you look at this year's hysteria like Moss/Carolina game and the Baltimore roughing the passer call; it makes you woner if this is some parity driven problem or a shot toward the Kraft family and the future of the league.

The Krafts are the key since they are the only franchise that has superior financial and organizational qualities.
