Actually, I meant Mink DeVille. I hear he is making a comeback. :D

Well, the Dolphins do have other needs just as important like a #1 WR. I think the Dolphins may not have a first round pick come draft time anyway because I think they will make a hard push to get Elvis Dummerville if he is a RFA this offseason.

I think Shawne Merriman is high on thier list of potential LBs to replace the older vets...I would say he is in their top 10 FAs

If we wanted a linebacker that was locker room cancer, why not just keep AD?

I think Porter is actually a motivator to the other players in the locker room unlike an underacheiving and an "I don't care, ask him" guy like Thomas.

Porter does remind me of a Bryan Cox type player who was a very emotional player for the Phins but I still don't want him even thought of.

I think Dumervil is higher because of Mike Nolan's experience with him in Denver.

Lets hope they don't get both

Why wouldn't the Pats want Dumervil? I know he's not a 6'5 giant like BB prefers, but he's such a demon in that 3-4 OLB spot. That's a guy that if we signed and say we re-signed TBc we'd have a pretty respectable pass rush right there.

Like the LT discussion, I am not advocating getting Porter, but I still don't get why people are so against getting aging veterans. That is how the Pats won Super Bowls.
Not really. They won superbowls by picking up players that could contribute.

They picked up players of all ages, from the youngest player ever drafted (PK Sam) to a guy who has retired a couple times (Junior Seau).

To say that the Patriots won the superbowl by signing old players is plain wrong, as wrong as it is to say you cannot win the superbowl if you sign an old player.

The key isn't how old a player is, it is what he can contribute. To suggest signing players because they are old is goofy (who himself is so old he played with a leather helmet in his earliest cartoons).

i think Dumervil, is higher on every ones list but i can't see denver leting him go. they will let brandon marshell, go befor they let him go

marriman, is a guy that had a off year and san diegos LT and two best WR's are FA's so they wont bring back marriman if the price is not right.

the 49ers the fish the jets the cards will all be looking at marriman,

i would be happy if they just bring back TBC and wilfork, even if it is a uncaped year the pats are still not going to pick up any big name FA's at lest not ones that will cost 9 to 10 million a year like Dumervil, will.

I'm sure the Pats would want him. It will be tough to pry him away from Denver though.

Supposedly there is more to this. Apparently, Porter and Sparano had a huge falling out on a personal level.

When I was thinking of veteran guys would could motivate the team Porter was one of the first guys I thought of. Yes he talked smack about the Pats in the past, but we could use someone on the team will some passion and the ability to back it up.

He'd probably get cut soon if he came here. I don't think he'd be able to make it through the practices against Vollmer

OMG Porter's available? Sign him! A perfect fit for New England and with huge skills. Forget signing Wilfork if we get this guy.

sarcasm?

I can't tell

Who's in the market for a trash talker? Seems like a logical choice for the Jets, only time will tell...but I can't see any team jumping on him.
