"...Porter did express his frustration with this past season with the Dolphins and senses the team is ready to move in a different direction, the source said. But he never said he wanted to leave the Dolphins..."

he wont sign with the pats and BB wont play LB's that only rush the QB if u can't stop the run or cover you can't play for BB

he will sign with the jets and have about 6 sacks vs the fish in two games.

Yes,I read it - He said on the radio he wanted to leave and he also said he didn't another time,I really don't think the Dolphins want a player who is not sure he wants to be on the team,I expect him to be released in this case if he has the same kind of attitude.

I guarantee you that Parcells won't put up with this sh!t being a distraction all offseason, either he is commited to being in Miami or he is not.

Miami Dolphins news, training updates, injury reports, trades & more ? The Daily Dolphin blog Blog Archive Linebacker Joey Porter wants out of Miami? Maybe not.

Please Belichick...DO NOT and I mean DO NOT look at another washed up no longer relevant LBer has-been who also hates this team.

I would think Belichick would sign him for cheap even if he is a loud mouth, but there is no way I want Porter to even be a thought for a veteran Pass Rusher.

You do realize that for Porter to come to the team, he would actually have to have the desire to play in New England, right? Given he has already publicly stated that he "hates" this organization it seems pretty unlikely.

Re: OT: Joey Porter wants out of Miami, says he's done as a Dolphin

Like the LT discussion, I am not advocating getting Porter, but I still don't get why people are so against getting aging veterans. That is how the Pats won Super Bowls. This team desperately needs some veteran leadership and a change in attitude. You aren't going to get that from a rookie.

As for Porter specifically, he is the wrong type of player to bring in. He wore out his welcome in Florida because he refused to come out of games eventhough his coach has told him to come out. That is not the type of leadership the Pats need.

If Jason Taylor was willing to come here for short money, I would be all for it as long as the Pats didn't look at him as a full time starter. But Porter is another story.

Sure its unlikely - actually VERY unlikely, but with the way BB gives any player a possibility to come here and change his atitude you can't rule anyone out.

Aging veterans is one thing

Overrated, over the hill wash ups is another

Also, if you think veteran leadership or a positive change in attitude would come from Porter than you amaze me

From the Phininsider:

Apparently Joey Porter told a radio station in his hometown of Bakersfield, CA that he wasn't happy with his role in 2009 and he hopes he doesn't have to return to Miami.

Porter's agent is also reportedly scheduled to meet with the Dolphins this week. My thoughts? Thanks for 2008, Joey. But so long.

Porter says publicly that he doesn't want to return toMiami - The Phinsider

Looks like Miami might be drafting a passrusher then. Porter is trying to shoot himself out of town with his big fat mouth!

Ummm... Considering I said that I do not want Porter and that I think he has the wrong attitude, I am not saying that at all.

I am arguing against the premise that the Pats shouldn't get a veteran LB. I am not arguing the premise that that veteran LB should be Joey Porter.

Re: OT: Joey Porter wants out of Miami, says he's done as a Dolphin

Will never happen, Porter hates the Pats more then Jason Taylor. Plus Porter is about washed up and not versatile.

I think Porter has already shot his way out of town by being himself and not producing like he did in 2008.

I figured that's what you meant

It was more of a blanket statement to anybody that thought Porter had something of value to offer this team

Jason Taylor doesn't hate the Pats. He hates them when he is playing against them, but has said he would like to play for Belichick at some point if the opportunity arises. Well, unless the Dolphins want him back.

Without Jason Taylor and Joey Porter who are both probably going to be gone there go the veterans on the team....Miami looks like they are losing as much up front as we are and it will be a fight to get the best pass rush draftees in the AFC East,we need to make some swift smart moves in April

Ok, fair enough. Sorry.

Re: OT: Joey Porter wants out of Miami, says he's done as a Dolphin

IIRC didn't Bryan Cox have bad things to say about the Pats until he joined them for the SB run in 2001?

Well, the Dolphins do have other needs just as important like a #1 WR. I think the Dolphins may not have a first round pick come draft time anyway because I think they will make a hard push to get Elvis Dummerville if he is a RFA this offseason.
