Could the Vikings be a trade partner?

If Favre retires; I assume they need a QB. Not sure who their backup is but they may want to bring one along for a few years behind whoever is there now.

Bradford or McCoy could slip to 22 and they could be looking to move up for one of them. Do they have a bunch of picks or anyone they could trade we may like.
Just throwing this out here. We all know BB may want to trade back.

For a small move up (or to trade 2 2nd round picks to get an additional 1st round pick), I've suggested Atlanta at #19 because they have no 2nd round pick, because their big need is CB and it's not clear that anyone is worth taking at 19 other than Joe Haden who should be gone, and because we have a relationship with Tom Dimitroff.

Other teams that we have a relationship with include Denver and Kansas City. We have a history of trades with Oakland, Baltimore, Green Bay, San Francisco, New Orleans and San Diego in the past several years. I suspect it would be hard for us to trade within the division and also with Indy, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

Common trade partners include teams without a 2nd round pick, and teams drafting at the top of the following round who want to trade up a bit.

But what would they give in exchange? The Pats got a third-rounder to move down from 7 to 10, so giving up a second to move up three slots from 22 to 19 would be akin to highway robbery.

You misunderstand me.

I could see 2 options:

1. Trade up from 22 to 19 to get a specific player. That's worth about 95 points. Probably our 4th rounder would be enough to get it done.

2. Trade up from the 2nd round to 19. The would require combining 2 of our 2nd round picks. We would end up with 19 and 22. #42 and #47 together are worth a bit more than #19, so I would equalize it by swapping our 4th (#118) with Atlanta's 3rd (#83). That would net us a 1st and 3rd instead of 2 2nds and a 4th.

The issue is not that Chilly would refuse; it's that the price BB would charge would be so high that the Vikings wouldn't be able to say that.

Since people are talking about trades I like what was said about the rams and i agree.....What if they offered us a 2nd in 2010 and there 1st in 2011 to move up to 22.....I don't know what other pick we would have to throw in to make the trade but I would be all for that if they wanted a QB bad enough....

That is a whole lot of value to move up 11 spots as I would project the 2011 Rams pick to be Top 10. Given that projection, I would do it in a heart beat as there seems to be at least 35 solid 1st round graded players out there, if not more, and picking up another probable Top 10 pick in 2011 with a highly likely hard cap/slot system for rookies would be a great value move for the Pats.

However if the trade is to roughly balanced, it would be #22 and the Pats own 2nd rounder for #33 and a 2011 1st rounder. The other combo that works would be #33 and #65 for #22 and the Pats 4th rounder.
