That's two things. We can all make a list; there have been a dozen threads about that and several media articles too. The question is what is the ONE most important thing, in your opinion?I think the Pats need to add a blue chip playmakers who can make the 2-3 big plays/game that turn games around (as well as the other consistent play) - one on offense and one on defense. The defensive one could be a pass rusher, but could be a stud ILB like Rolando McClain, or a DT/DE like Dan Williams. The most likely offensive playmaker is CJ Spiller. I'm not sure there's anyone else I would go for.

Get brady back to form and spend the off season working with Edelman and Tate.

Well, _I_ can count to two unlike SOME people here ...PromisedLand would probably call that 2 things.

PS Mayo, to address your earlier point, I considered making one of the choices "have a killer draft" but I decided that was too vague so I tried to define what constitutes a killer draft and that was the best I could come up. Sorry, I tried.
I basically agree with that as the most important priority. BTW if I could have added one more choice to the poll (the limit is 10) it would have been "resign their own free agents". Maybe I should have combined linebackers and pass rushers as "front seven player" - anyway, resigning Wilfork is also a very high priority. They need to draft young, hungry, starting calliber players. Create a base to build upon in 2010 and beyond. Whether it be a guy to compliment Mayo inside, a beast at OLB/DE, or a WR that scares the living hell out of opposing teams, they need someone who will start their NFL career as a Patriot. They can't afford to get veterans all the time to fill the holes. To compliment the team and provide serviceable reps, sure. But not as long term answers. All the great coaching in the world can't make up for lack of talent. Even if you're BB.
