We need immediate impact from our rookies this year so I'd draft players that have the best chance of coming in & making an impact in year 1.

I'd trade our #22 & 6th rounder to TB for #35 & #67.

#35 Golden Tate WR ND;

Extremely productive in Weiss's pro style offense, has all the intangibles, great hands & fantastic kick returner ( if I see Slater return another kick again I'm gonna throw up ). Of all the recievers in the draft I think Tate is the most NFL ready & would be a HUGE upgrade over whoever our #2 reciever is.

#43 Mike Iupati G Idaho;

Best OG in the draft, like Mankins would step in right away & start day 1 ( replaces Neal who is prob gonna retire ) Would give us some much needed beef up front as I feel Neal (thanks to injuries ) was apt to get pushed around by more physical DT.

#48 Eric Noorwood OLB SC;

The best pure pass rusher in the draft imo. Worst case scenerio he is a 3rd down pass rushing specialist his rookie year.

#54 Brandon Spikes ILB F;

Two years ago I remember everyone drooling over Rey Maualuga & thinking he would be a top10 pick. Just like Rey some of the shine has come off Spikes this year & he may fall to this spot. Don't make the same mistake twice BB, Spikes would be perfect next to Mayo inside. Guyton is a good back up, 3rd down LB. I don't wanna see GG starting next year ( & getting pushed 10 yards into the backfield on every run ).

#67 Dexter McCluster RB/WR Miss;

Faulk isnt getting any younger, McCluster is a play maker & a threat to take it to the house any time he gets the ball in space. Our team needs to restock on young play makers.

#118 Maurkice Pouncey C Florida;

Koppen is getting old & tends to get blown up by the better NT in the league, Pouncey would push Koppen for his starting spot & would replace him year 2.

i would be happy with a draft like that, although i dont see tate falling that far

I like it but hope BB doesn't trade back more than one pick in the first two rounds.
As everyone has said; we need playmakes and to restock this team this offseason.

I agree, no more value picks. I would love to see BB go up and grab a playmaker.

A lot of guys would have to slip to make that work out.

that would be a great draft but Tate, Iupati, and Noorwood may all go in the first round,

While I agree with you, I suspect that you would agree that a lot of redchippers will be available through #67. When we review a Pick 2 board in March, I suspect that we will be torn between trading up, staying put, or trading down and picking up a redchipper.

At this early point, I'm sure there are at least 50 first rounders, chosen by at least a couple of the top draft boards.

Hey thats why its a "dream draft", its unlikely all of these guys will be on the board but it wouldn't shock me either. My trade is even more unlikely but I need something to cheer me up with a Colts SB in 2 weeks. :mad:

Why do you think that your trade is unlikely?

There will undoubtedly be redchippers available through the mid 3rd round. The number of draft spots are fixed, and there's just too much talent to squeeze in. Any of the guys listed could slip, though for them all to fall to that extent is unlikely.

My personal dream:

1. Get 2 blue chippers in the 1st round, trading up. Preferably CJ Spiller and Carlos Dunlap.

2. Get 3-4 red chip prospects in the late 2nd/mid 3rd rounds, including:

- Austen Lane
- An OG, preferably either Vlad Ducasse or Mike Johnson
- An ILB, preferably either AJ Edds or Eric Norwood
- A developmental RT like Jared Veldheer

I have absolutely no idea how to accomplish all of that.

No, you don't. :)
The OP was more reasonable in not expecting 2 blue-chippers AND 3-4 red-chippers.

I do think that 4-5 redchippers is a reasonable goal, as is two blue chippers, but not both.

While there are no can't miss picks I love this. As usual, you address our needs Mayo. The question is ;will BB?
I didn't realize Carlos Dunlap was this big ...6'6 - 290 lbs..

Dunlap is probably closer to 270 than 290, but we won't know until the combine weigh-in.

As I said, I have no idea how to accomplish all of that. Particularly if Austen Lane rises. The best I can see doing is something like this:

- Hope CJ Spiller and Dunlap last. Trade 42, 47 and 118 to Atlanta for 19 and 83 and draft one at 19 and one at 22.

- Draft Austen Lane or one of the OGs at 53.

- Trade up from 83 to the top of the 3rd round and try to get the other one, hoping they last.

This loses out on the developmental RT and the ILB. The ILB could potentially be addressed in FA (Karlos Dansby?).
