We need immediate impact from our rookies this year so I'd draft players that have the best chance of coming in & making an impact in year 1.
I'd trade our #22 & 6th rounder to TB for #35 & #67.
#35 Golden Tate WR ND;
Extremely productive in Weiss's pro style offense, has all the intangibles, great hands & fantastic kick returner ( if I see Slater return another kick again I'm gonna throw up ). Of all the recievers in the draft I think Tate is the most NFL ready & would be a HUGE upgrade over whoever our #2 reciever is.
#43 Mike Iupati G Idaho;
Best OG in the draft, like Mankins would step in right away & start day 1 ( replaces Neal who is prob gonna retire ) Would give us some much needed beef up front as I feel Neal (thanks to injuries ) was apt to get pushed around by more physical DT.
#48 Eric Noorwood OLB SC;
The best pure pass rusher in the draft imo. Worst case scenerio he is a 3rd down pass rushing specialist his rookie year.
#54 Brandon Spikes ILB F;
Two years ago I remember everyone drooling over Rey Maualuga & thinking he would be a top10 pick. Just like Rey some of the shine has come off Spikes this year & he may fall to this spot. Don't make the same mistake twice BB, Spikes would be perfect next to Mayo inside. Guyton is a good back up, 3rd down LB. I don't wanna see GG starting next year ( & getting pushed 10 yards into the backfield on every run ).
#67 Dexter McCluster RB/WR Miss;
Faulk isnt getting any younger, McCluster is a play maker & a threat to take it to the house any time he gets the ball in space. Our team needs to restock on young play makers.
#118 Maurkice Pouncey C Florida;
Koppen is getting old & tends to get blown up by the better NT in the league, Pouncey would push Koppen for his starting spot & would replace him year 2.
