Esiason on D&C: Jets roster has surpassed Pats

why do morons expect the Pats to be one of the best teams all the time. even the great teams have had to suffer on hard times as they rebuild. No team can sustain greatness...it is eb and flow. See cowboys, 49er, pitt, etc. All have fallen from grace. some are recovering better than others

you know what i say...even the sun shines on a dogs ass every now and then

I think you saw the weakness of the Jets roster and their player acquisition strategy: It's very top heavy without much depth.

It looks great (as has been touted on this board for the last few weeks) when you are one of the least injured teams. But lose a couple of players, and you quickly feel the effects.

Injuries are inevitable, and they caught up with the Jets yesterday.

7-7 after 14 games, no depth. I'm confident we will win the division next year. And Brady put 31 on them.

They would be FAR better with those guys too.

Yes, they are better than the Pats. The coaching is better too, that's what can't be changed easily.

I still think a healthy Brady (hopefully he was injured this year) is better than Sanchize.

Are you sure you are OK? Brady with 1 arm tied behind his back is better than Sanchez.

Simple way to test this:

Would you trade every single player on the Patriots for every single player on the Jets.

My answer: no way.

Kris Jenkins is not bad when he is healthy. Unfortunately he isn't healthy too often anymore and he is also 34 which is old for a guy who plays the position he does.

I like Leon but he's a FA so who knows what happens with him.

I forget the link but someone posted it where the jets were one of the teams with the fewest games lost by a starter.

How long have you been a Patriot fan?

You think we need a coaching change?

You could say this about pretty much every team.

I would say the teams are pretty close, the Jets have their talent more spread out than we do but we have such a huge advantage where it matters most- QB. Though i will say Sanchez played really well in the playoffs.

Jets got hot at the right time this year, we played our best game against Indy.

No way would I switch the Pats roster for the Jets roster.

I would, however, switch up the playcallers in a New York minute.

Schottenhemier vs. our guy (whoever that is or supposedly is)?

Waht do you think? Versatile offense that exploits weaknesses vs. Maroney off tackle, overthrow to Moss, Welker for the 8 yards, punt on 4th and 2?

Or Maroney off tackle, Faulk draw for 3, faulk draw for 3, punt.

I mean, to me, it's a no brainer. We could pull plays out of a hat and have more success.

LMAO! This is getting so old. This love session with the Jets needs to end now! They are not better coached nor is their roster more stacked. As evident by the fact that a rusty ass Brady almost beat them the first go around, and in the 2nd go around made them look like fools. We played the colts down to the ******* wire. The jets took em to mid 2nd qtr. Give me a break already.

I would switch our o-line, our running backs, and our defense in a heartbeat.

The scary thing is they are only going to get better in Ryan's system. If they ever get Jenkins back healthy and a defensive end that could get to the QB. They could be great.

From a pure talent standpoint, I can say the Jets are better than the Pats. I don't think they are as talented as some people in the media make them, but they are more talented. It doesn't mean the Pats won't close that talent gap this offseason.

I still think Sanchez is still a liability and cannot be trusted to be anything more than a game manager. The more he throws, the more he makes stupid mistakes. I still also question the coaching.

Having more talent doesn't always equate to being better. They are still an immature team that lacks dicipline. When things are going well, they can be dominant. When things go bad, players are pointing fingers and acting like idiots. Hey even today Braylon Edwards openly questioned the playcalling.

Really? You would take Rex Ryan over Belichick? The Jets fans would gladly give up Brian Schottenheimer. They hate the guy more than we hate O'Brien here.

I said as much. Well not literally one arm, but he's better if he's healthy anyway.

Do you think Brady hits the long pass to Edwards against the Colts given how he plays this year? See what I mean?

But yes, of course, in a regular year he's much better.

I think Brady, Moss and Welker walk into the that Jets side.

Wilfork takes Jenkins place because Jenkins can't stay healthy.

Umm... I'm not sure about anyone else.
