If you buy into that make believe asterisk, you're actually giving into the hype of the very people you claim to hate. I don't buy it. It was merely one year of bad pub and it makes no difference to me.

I don't take stock in the opinions of idiots. And that's what ESPN and most of the sports media were for one year. The hype blew over and it's no more than an afterthought now. It only continues to live if you buy into it. I certainly don't buy into it now nor ever before.

By buying into it you empower a fiction that never should have existed in the first place. Consider that before you start/continue a thread that tries to revive a dead horse that should remain dead.

It is not fiction in the minds of many many fans who are not Patriots.

If there weren't so many PATs fans willing to let the Jets off the hook
for what they did to the good name of the Patriots by wishing them to win
the AFCC .... this thread would never have been started.

It is fans who want to have mental block on who these JETs really are that stimulated the need to remind them of who these JETs really are.

I don't care what the JETs think. I do care that they tarnished the name
of the Patriots with a trivial technicality and did it with a former Patriot
traitor at the helm.

an interpretation of the rule that allowed him to do it.
He didn't hide the Camera. He did not get a notice from
the NFL to stop putting the camera where he was putting it.

Their GM is still there and he was a big part of it. JETS stand for the
organization that hurt the PATs good name. No matter who was at the helm it was the JETS that did it and their fans loved it and degraded the
PATs every chance they got. Don't forget that!

Do you really think as long as commentators of this age are still alive that
when they begin talking about PATs three Superbowl wins their won't be
a reference to camera gate? Com on.

if that's the case, then every nfl dynasty has their asterisk. the steelers and their steroids with former players living on the streets and commiting suicide as the result of steroid abuse. the niners and circumventing the salary cap and debartolo being kicked out of the league for all his shady dealings. dallas and their " white house" doing crack and hookers, actually standing trial. compared to these transgressions, the location from where we were taping is not even a blip on the radar.

and in the mind of many fans that is probably true. But none of those
"transgressions" got the media attention that the PATs got. I think you
will be hard pressed to find a fan who doesn't know about camera gate.

We ignored a line in the field operations guide. That violation was just about as serious as poor groundskeeping, turning down the thermostat in the visiting locker room, or under-inflating a game ball. It was only punished at all because the gripe went to the media.

Today's game is like choosing between a ball peen hammer-blow to the left nut and a ball peen hammer-blow to the right nut.

I guess I will cheer mostly against the team with no nuts, Polian's pansies who said "EFF you NFL and EFF you fans" by quitting. Karma owes them a payback, then Karma takes down the Jets in two weeks.

Jets lose? Big deal, they've already accomplished more than was expected this season and will still be quite happy with the season.

Colts lose? Ridiculously, all-time embarrassing.

The Colts will be a footnote rather than a paragraph in history if they lose this one to the Jets.

First of all, I don't think there's an asterisk next to any of the Patriots' accomplishments.

Second, it was Eric Mangini who turned us in for Spygate. He isn't with that team anymore, so it seems pretty pointless to hate on them just for that.

I despise the Jets as much as any other Pats fan, but seriously, what are you going to say to them? Rooting against a 9-7 team that made the AFC Championship is pointless. If they lose, they accomplished more than anyone thought they would and they'll come back more confident than next year. I don't see how you can enjoy seeing the 9-7 Jets lose anything at this point while the Patriots are sitting at home.

Besides, if the Colts lose, it's a huge embarrassment for Bill Polian. I hate that ******* and anything that serves to humiliate him is more than welcome. Nothing would be better than to see that smug little coward watch his team lose to the same organization they arrogantly allowed into the playoffs. I can't stand the squeaky-clean, Bible-reciting image the Colts have created for themselves. It's total BS. Polian and that front office are anything but classy.

Plus, the Jets deserve to win. #1 Defense and #1 rushing attack, plus they play outdoors up north. That says "real football" to me. They are better than anyone gives them credit for.
