= Happy Ending

Anything that lets Manning have a chance at a SB is too dangerous thing to wish for.

Jets over colts and saints over jets.

Geaux Jets!

Geaux Saints!

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how you can call yourself a Pats fan and root for the Jets. I hate them more than any other team in the league... including the Colts. Here's to a Colts win in a very physical game followed by a defeat at the hands of the Saints. :eat1:

I hate the Colts more than the Jets. I sorta admire some of these Jets and I think Sexy Rexy is funny.

I won't root for the Jets or Colts but I would find it incredibly funny if the Colts loose. Either way I want an NFC team to win it all but if it is the Vikings I hope everyone won't be all over Childress's nuts :blahblah:

This

although the Vikings are my #2 behind the Pats

If they can't do it then Saints FTW

A Jets loss isn't going to demoralize them or anything, the fact that they're in the AFC Championship game is already a huge accomplishment and they'll go into next season with tons of confidence, regardless.

The Colts on the other hand, this would be a historically embarrassing loss. Giving up a perfect season to let a previously 7-7 team in the playoffs that would then proceed to eliminate you? They would never live that down and absolutley no one would agree with their decision to rest, it will be complete outrage in Indianapolis. Think of their response in week sixteen, multiplied by a million.

I don't want Peyton adding another AFC championship to his resume, while also improving his playoff record to above .500, either. As he is the direct competitor to Brady for best QB of the the 00's (which is ultimately becoming best QB of all-time) anything that adds to his record of success is not desired.

Also, if the Jets win an AFC championship it's not as significant from a historical standpoint. If they don't win it all, no one is really going to care about in a few years. However, a Colts AFC Championship just adds another accomplishment to their overall decade of success. While I want the Saints to win it all, Brett Favre giving one final *** you to the Jets by defeating them in the Super Bowl would be absolutley fantastic.

On Monday I was rooting for the whole Colts eliminated by the team they let in angle, but by Wednesday I changed my mind.

Can't root for Tubby Wrecks.

I may be the only person on the board, but I like Rex Ryan. The only problem I have with the guy is that he's on the Jets.

Beyond that he is a very entertaining guy, a fantastic motivator and while very confident also very gracious. I've never heard a head coach praise his coordinators on the consistent basis Ryan does. Plus whenever Belichick is brought up he immediately states how he is by far the best coach in the league, even better than him.

There's a big difference from malicious trash talking (eg: Joey Porter calling us cheaters, LT calling us classless) and respectful motivation (Ryan recognizing the Patriots achievements, but letting his team know he's not going to be intimidated)

If this team somehow makes it to the Super Bowl, he is without a doubt the (unofficial) coach of the year, in my eyes.

Jets beating the Colts = Polian looking like a real idiot for pulling his starters and comprimising league integrity

Colts beating the Jets = Same Old Jets

I want the Jets to win, and get blown out by the Saints in the Super Bowl.

Just hate Manning in SB, I like this ending :D

You need to get your eyes checked, then. Tubby inherited a pretty talented defense (thanks in no small part to his predecessor...who had the division in hand just a year ago before his aging QB spit the bit and he got canned). And with talent he's a pretty impressive DC. But lets not forget the inherited part, or the part where he was inserting himself into his inherited OC's space and installing a red light green light system on a rookie QB running an offense whose terminology Tubby didn't even understand, or the part where they were 7-7 heading into week 16 and and he pronounced them out of the playoff hunt...until someone pointed out the math to this motivational genius who didn't undertake the job to kiss Belichick's rings....

Tubby and Company are only in the playoffs today because Indy laid down in week 16 and Cincy reverted to Bungles form down the stretch and the supremely talented perpetually underachieving SD Superfrauds ever can't get out of their own way in the playoffs. A Broadway playwrite couldn't have scripted it better for this blowhard and his merry band of smacktalkers. Who again, at 7-7, weren't exactly backing it up as they backed in.

The JETS haven't won anything in decades. I prefer it remain that way. It is their karma to tease their obnoxious fanbase to death. Indy has won one superbowl. Operating in a window. They've yet to lose one. I'd just as soon they get to experience that...too. Nobody ever remembers who lost the SB unless you did so in an undefeated season (or after blowing off a slam dunk undefeated season because your insufferable team president believed that is how you win the only game that matters...).

I am not a fan of Ryan, but I dont overly dislike him. I admire his style of play, at least on the defense. I wish the Pats would play more like that. But you need the horses first. Bill Polian on the other hand, I find as the most distestable person in the NFL. I have absolutely no doubt his position on the rules commitee has influenced the way the game is played and called, and has benefited the Colts. I hope the Colts gets crushed Sunday.

I dont mind Manning either, but I honestly feel Brady is the better QB and while another championship for Manning will make it alot closer, I would still give the nod to Brady. There are many reasons for my opinions, to many to give and this is not a thread about Manning/Brady. Its just my opinion. The Colts winning would add more fuel to the Manning point of view while a defeat will solidify my main arguement of Manning not being the big game QB that Brady is.

The Jets had the 18th ranked defense last season and now have the clear cut #1 defense, please.

Indy laid down in week 16 and Cincy reverted to Bungles form down the stretch and the supremely talented perpetually underachieving SD Superfrauds ever can't get out of their own way in the playoffs.

Everything after the bold is just weak qualifying exuses.

This is my preferred scenario too!! I'd rather see Manning crossing the field with his helmet on after the AFC Championship game than chance him having to do it after the Superbowl. How pathetic is it that we have the cheer for the Jets (the !@#@! Jets!) in the AFC Championship game!!

In games where I dislike both teams I never think of it as 'cheering' for one team to win, rather I think of it as cheering for one team to LOSE. That why my morals don't get compromised. I just cheer for one team to lose MORE than the other team! :) In this case, I'll be cheering for the Colts to get eliminated and for the Saints to win it all. That city deserves a championship after all this time and what its gone through with Katrina, etc.

I want the traditional Super Bowl loser let down the next season to apply to the Jets.

Most of this just sounds like blind hatred. I'll agree that the Colts laid down and the Bengals just weren't that good. However, that Jets defense actually made the San Diego Chargers' offense look bad. Rivers was constantly on the run and couldn't stay in the pocket to deliver a throw to save his life. It's not about the Chargers choking just like it wasn't about the Patriots choking in the Super Bowl. It's about the defense actually getting to the quarterback.
