said it on EEI and surprised no one said it here. He said from the people that he knows in the stadium know for a fact they are not interested in POST caught Merriman.

Two completely different people.

Also said Belichick lost faith in Maroney in final 4 weeks.

not high on Merriman... rumors around San Diego that he was at a strip club two nights before the playoff game against the Jets and in Vegas the weekend before partying...

He needs to figure out if he wants to be a socialite or a football player

Good. As bad as we are at OLB, I'm still not sure that Merriman would be a major improvement. Definitely not worth the money.

A steroid using, woman-beater coming off the worst year in his career.

It's sad that's anyone type of person.

He was and he was. He also has made it well known he doesnt care for the upper management in San Diego.

Sadly enough, I wouldn't even mind the former two at this point, if not for the latter one. That's how badly our OLBs need an upgrade... Merriman just isn't one.

Knowing most people's opinion of AD, I don't see how anyone around here would think it's a good idea to bring in Merriman.

If he came here and performed well, 95% of people would love him.

And yes, I know that you are all that 5% that still would despise him.

It's good that the Pats dont' sign Merriman, cause that would add another off field issue with the Pats-Jets rivalry due to the whole Tia Tequila angle.

you mean the first annual tila tequila bowl they just played between the jets and chargers. no sense signing merriman, he's a clown and a shell of his former steroid using self.

Adailus and Merriman had nearly identical numbers this season, despite Adailus not even starting 5 games.

lol, yep thats so true

Personally, i just don't think he's the dominate player he once was. So i'd prefer we don't sign him. Then again, what do i know. I didnt want anything to do with Moss 3 years ago either....oops...

Im kinda tired of hearing this guy isnt a patriots type player, or this guy doesnt stand for the patriot way. If BB thinks the guy could play at high level then who cares of hes a patriot type player or not. Was Moss a patriots type player before he came to the team, doesnt seem like it. Was BM a patriots type player stompin on people, nope. Both have worked out pretty well though imo, especially Moss.

Thats my rant for the day its late im tired and still have homework to finish, let me have my moment of *****in.

Buy low sell high. He is 25 and long career ahead of him. Can turn it around, Has talent. And may be available on a contract in our favour.

Who knows if he could even turn it around.

Could easily be a case of his stats only being great because of the steriods, like David Ortiz.

Play recognition and reacting in zone coverage aren't steroid enhanced. If you have it between the ears your half way there.

He has heart, tried to play on a sprained ACL or MCL whichever it was.

That doesn't change anything.

Same as juiced up MLB players saying "well steriods don't enhance hand-eye coordination."

Well, it is a different position, but it seems like Karlos Dansby won't be franchised. Sign him and Peppers and resign TBC and Burgess on the cheap. I think that is a better option. Granted unless the Pats open up their wallets and most likely a dream.

BTW, Peppers dogging it was the most overhyped story of the year. The guy had a bad first month (and slow stretch a few weeks later) and then turned it on and still had 10.5 sacks. You can chock part of that up to the fact the guy had no training camp or most of the preseason.

Not a huge fan of Merriman, but the guy was coming back from an ACL reconstruction. Comparing him to Thomas is not really fair.

If the Pats could get Merriman on the cheap, I wouldn't be against it. I think the Chargers will tender him with a second round tender (assuming there is no CBA) though and I don't know if I would pay him and give up a second rounder.
