Butler deserves some consideration for third place but Vollmer is the clear winner.

I think Butler is my #2 choice but it is a distant #2

Elite?

He'll be good for what we need him to be, possession receiver to mid-range level throws. There are only a few elite receivers in the NFL, and I have a hard time thinking we'll be seeing Edelman among the Larry Fitgeralds, Andre Johnsons, Reggie Waynes, etc.

I'll be happy if he's as good as Austin Collie.

Yea elite as in Brandon Marshall or Reggie Wayne is a stretch.

But I do like Edelman. I do think next year with Welker on the mend for most of it he could be a 70 catch guy with around 850-900 yards. Not bad for a 7th rounder.

As far as a RoY, I really like what Myron Pryor did. 284 snaps and 17 tackles. Not bad. If he finds a couple of pas rushing moves and works on handling the double teams better he has a great future...

Vollmer. He looks like he's going to be a starter on this OL for years to come. Great size, athleticism and agility on the OL. He is what this team needed. A lot of the Pats blowouts happened when the OL blocked well. Vollmer was a big part of that.

Edelman deserves an honorable mention though. I hope he becomes a big part of this offense in 2010.

I voted for Ingram. He snapped the ball 138 times without a miscue. The Patriots did not miss Lonie Paxton at all. Ingram deserves some recognition for doing a good job.

Ingram really deserves the recognition. Unlike the other rookies, he was relied on every single game of the season, and did his job without issue.

But after some consideration, I'd go with Vollmer. He only started 8 games, but he played in 14, and also played at multiple positions. But I'd put Ingram second above Edelman, who missed some time due to injuries.

i don't know about elite. welkers name is not even bring up when peopel talk about elite. WR in the NFL

Yeah, having 346 receptions in three years isn't elite.

Average, at that.

I gotta say Edelman.
I believe he will be a elite reciever in the NFL.

Whaaa??

As for the poll.... I cant imagine how anyone not related by blood to the other nominees could vote different than Vollmer. It wasnt even close.

i never said i don't think he's elite i said peopel all the guys on ESPN and NFL network never talk about welker as a top five WR

Vollmer but it was close, Edleman made just as much of an impact. Im surprised that its this uneven so far.

Vollmer. Had Edelman not gotten hurt however, this poll would be much much closer I believe.

No body is better than Wes at what he does.
WHAT??
edelman only played two games with good playing time, with Houston and Baltimore, he had a plus 100 yard game and a 2 td performance.
He is already better than Collie, he will be better then Wes.

Voted Vollmer, I would've added Butler to the list.

I thought he had a pretty good game against the Jets in one of the two contests but I may be misremembering. I thought he did a passable job filling in for Welker that day.

I'm certainly willing to give you Collie ;), but Wes is a bit more of a stretch.

There's one key difference between Edelman and Welker: Welker's been catching passes since Edelman was in grade school.
