Can change your fortunes dramatically. Sadly belichick will hire another errand boy whose only football knowledge is learning bb's defense that has gone stale the last few years.

No-one has to root for the Patriots. Seriously, if you don't like them then root for a team you like. Belichick isn't going anywhere - and he's not changing for you - so it's a bit silly to root for someone you don't like isn't it.

I figured a week after the loss the casual moron fans would have moved on to the Sox already. I guess I was wrong!

LameE posts like this ruin the board, blind sheep who see nothing wrong. So your saying we cant criticize the team? Every person who is not a pats fan knows they have gone stale.

Gotta agree, the Jets team as a whole play with lots more confidence. You can only imagine how they'd be with a QB who doesn't turn the ball over 3 times a game.

yeah there's nothing wrong with criticism - been a pats fan since the 3rd grade when i saw a bledsoe poster and thought it was cool (im 23 now) - and i gotta say however that im not sure if its the scheme but its the lack of character of the players - the fire isnt there, as much as you may hate to hear the loud mouths like ray lewis or players like him - they do make the team better.

as far as BB goes - he will always be the same, and i dont know how his efforts work behind the scenes in building confidence or being a ra-ra guy. but as much as i hate rex ryan the guy just exudes confidence and arrogance which spills into the locker room and the players seem to be playing with balls this year. BB doesnt HAVE to, and he wont do this because thats not him. But we DO need SOMEONE in the organization to do this

umm i think this was a bit of a overreaction

and I am not suggesting that Patriots should get rid of BB. I am just annoyed that the Jets are doing better.

Whose fresh approach, Mangini's or Ryan's? These players didn't just appear this year, they took years to develop (despite all the talk, Revis is not a rookie). There is something to be said for continuity.

Rex Ryan is a good defensive coach, as annoying as he may be. But schemes only do so much. The Jets also had plenty of talent in place. Some times things just click for a team.

And if the Colts take it to them next week, will it be "see what a not-so-fresh approach can do on D"?

didn't say there wasn't anything wrong. But making assumptions based on an opinion that isn't based in fact, is lame.

Dean Pees came from college, Romeo was a Parcells guy. Mangini was the only "erran" boy and he took off after a year. And I'm pretty sure BB brought in a guy named Dom Capers last year as well.

So again your thread is lame.

Don't be annoyed at the Jets, be annoyed at BB and the Pats for making such terrible decisions.

And the worst part is that come draft time, all the "experts" will be saying how so many speed rushers don't fit into our system because they aren't 6-5 and 255 pounds. Newsflash: we've never been able to draft or sign anyone here that size who can perform the way we need them to. Not for some time.

And if you are going with the theme that anyone who disagrees with you is a "blind sheep," what is the "fresh approach" - the coordinator, the head coach, personnel, etc.? You say absolutely nothing then are shocked by the negative response.

At this point, if you want to point to anyone still in the playoffs as a team that has figured it out, you may actually try to offer more than some conclusory opening post that offers not a shred of fact for discussion, other than the obvious fact that the Jets are still in the playoffs this year (it happens - the Ravens went all of a game further so are they a model franchise as well?). The Cards were there a game more, and I do not think that is a team to mimic.

Otherwise, it isn't a discussion. It's you saying "we should be there" without saying why.

I'm not saying you can't criticize but there's really no point in rooting for a team if you're going to say the guy running it will hire an errand boy.

if the Pats decide to go with more 1-gap and less 2-gap, perhaps we'll see the change reflected in the draft and/or other off-season moves.

I am no expert, but most fans on this board seems to suggest that Patriots defense need speed rushers. I don't see any speed rushers on the Jets defense ? I guess it must be the scheme.

I wouldn't mind seeing a change to the 1-gap myself. However, if personnel can be found to effectively run the 2-gap, then there is no reason to move away from it. The problem, lately, has been finding effective personnel.

Don't worry about some of these guys. They refuse to accept the truth of what you just said.

I agree with you completely. Guys need to realize the 2-3 seasons it takes for the guy to learn what the hell he is doing that's 2-3 more years that Brady, Moss and Welker get older.

Personnel is critical. Two-gap defensive ends like Richard Seymour in his prime don't grow on trees, unfortunately. :(

If the shoe fits.....
