Is Ocho available?

I meant that every perceived issue with Moss (legit or not) is only worse with Ocho. Moss dogs it? Wait til you see Ocho. Moss is an overpriced decoy when we play good corners? Ditto Ocho, who was wiped out by Revis back to back weeks. Moss tunes out when he's not getting the ball? Ocho's way worse.

Moss is more talented, produces more, and still gets killed by the fans and media. What will happen with Ocho, who isn't as good but thinks he's better?

im going to have to disagree with you here, ocho constantly runs 100% you never hear about him taking plays off or anything like that and when his team is down by 14 hes running the same way if his team were up by 14

NO Wide Receiver runs 100% every single play. He talks to the media so they have no reason to put the microscope on him and highlight the plays where it may look like he's not giving 1000% effort.

True enough. The Boston media would probably love for him to come too.

I think you're basing your argument on the misconception that the Patriots make decisions based on how it will play in the media.

The fact is, a shut down corner (Revis) can only cover one receiver at a time. With a true number 2 it's more than likely one of the 3 receivers will be open (ala 2007). Drives that were stalled when the Patriots had chances to put teams away (Colts, Broncos, Fins, Jets) now have more of a chance to stay alive. With the added threat of a true number 2 (and it doesnt have to be Ochos), those games probably would have been victories and the Patriots would be playing at home this weekend after their bye.

Make him change his last name back to Johnson. It's really hard to take anyone named Ochocinco seriously. But would I like to see him lined up opposite Moss?

Yes. Yes, I would.

I could be wrong, but I have to believe at this stage of his career, he knows he can't carry the Bengals, and that he should merc his way onto a contender. But I guess he's also loyal (he insisted he was retiring a Bengal in postgame interviews after the playoff loss), so who knows.

This is like a thread in tampa bay forum asking if Brady and Moss can be had for a 2nd rd picks.

He is signed till 2012 and most of his 35 million is already paid so he is playing for bargain money for the Bengals so i have no clue why the bengals are going to trade him .I cannot think of 1 reason as palmer and the fans will go crazy .especially after winning coach of the year a sure way to get fired for lewis.

Ocho boldin marshall moss - any 2 would be great in combo w/ welker

He would be a good #2 across from Moss, but he's not that physical of a WR. He even said it himself before the Jets game that he gets taken out of his game when Revis jams him b/c he's more about speed, separation, and quickness.

I'd rather have a guy like Boldin who may not be as fast but is a big target and is more physical. Then again, with Moss opposite Ocho, I would have to think that opens a lot of room for Ocho to operate and he's not afraid of going over the middle as we saw when he almost got killed by Ray Lewis earlier this year. He could probably be that other deep threat that people have wanted since Stallworth left that could keep the D honest.

I'd take Ocho, but I prefer Boldin. I think Boldin is better at working the intermediate part of the field, and I think that's where we need the most help. I also like Boldin's drive and willingness to try to take people's heads off and fight for every yard. Brady would love him.

I don't have the All 22, so maybe I'm missing it, but from what I've seen, he definitely wasn't going 100% all the time, or even half the time. The scouting report on him is that he can lose his concentration, sometimes for an entire game. And if that's not enough, Chad Ochocinco himself admitted he slacked the entire 2008 off-season.

"I'm not even going to lie to you, I'm going to say it. Last year, the offseason, I didn't lift one weight, I didn't run one route, I didn't exercise. I didn't do nothing because my focus was on getting out of a situation I didn't want to be in. I'm not going to lie," Ochocinco said.

"And the result of my season, whether we as a team did bad or not, that's what I get. I get hurt in the preseason. I didn't lift no weights. If I had been on my right regiment, I guarantee you my collarbone, my shoulder wouldn't pop out of place. The ankle surgery, you know."

Agreed, Ochocinco could help on the field, assuming he doesn't bring his baggage with him. And you're right, BB doesn't care what I, or anyone else on this forum or in the media thinks ;)

Having said that much, I think we'd have to give up something substantial to get him, and I don't think he'd be worth the price or the potential headaches. There are other better options.

He is not available UNLESS we make a offer they cannot refuse like 2 1st rd are something. Are we ready to trade 2 1st for him

LOL--tried to point it out early in the thread, but to no avail.

:D

This topic has come up too many times, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

How do you know the Bengals want that much for him? That's a ridiculous demand for a WR who is over 30 and not named Jerry Rice/Randy Moss

Wow...turn down the font man.

One of the best receivers in the history of the NFL was also unavailable in April of 2007. He became available for a 4th rounder. Are you serious? Two number 1's?

Trade for Seattle's Nate Burleson instead. If Reese leaves we might make a deal. Plus he's younger at 28.

He's 32 years old and on the down side. That is before you even get into his sideshow act. If you are going to go all out and pay big for a WR there are better options (Boldin for one).

He's under contract through 2011. There was a hope when he was a malcontent and looking to get out that he might come here, but he presently is the Bengals passing offense so that will not happen.

As for performance, Revis covered both Moss and Ochocinco this season and appeared to do better against the latter. It would be great to see him on the team with Moss, but I wouldn't take him instead of Moss.

Stinko did nothing in the playoff game. You have to give up picks to get him, then get his high priced contract. Then deal with his antics. Then deal with his stinko performance in the playoffs. No thanks.

I don't know his contract situation but BB has always liked him.
The Bengals went out with a wimper in the playoffs and may be making changes. I do not see them winning that division again next year.

Your thoughts on him?

We need more youth on the team.

With all due respect to 85, when's the last time he had a season worthy of the antics he comes up with?

this season.

I don't understand why I keep hearing Chad Johnson's name brought up in relation to New England. I can't see it happening...

He'll be a free agent in 2012. However, Cincinnati has a club option for 2011.

2010: $5 million, 2011: $6 million (Club Option), 2012: Free Agent. If the Bengals don't exercise their 2011 option, they'll owe Ochocinco a $3.5 million payment.

Chad Ochocinco
