I only caught the tail end of it on 98.5, but Bert Breer was on Damon Amendolara's show and he said that Nick Caserio could be the next OC. He is only speculating, but he did give some decent evidence:
- Caserio was in the press box every game with Ernie Adams every game assisting the coaching staff. I know from sitting in the club seats a few times that Pioli did it (sitting in the press box with Ernie Adams) too when he was here, but I don't think it was a common occurance. Caserio was also spotted assisting coaching at some practices.
-Caserio does have a decent amount of offensive experience serving as WR coach and offensive coaching assistant.
-Breer also said that Caserio is said to be more like McDaniels than O'Brien is.
- Breer said that he feels that Brady and O'Brien never really clicked and Brady will have some say in who is his OC and will have difficult time endorsing someone he can't get in tune with.
I am not betting on it at this point, but it might make some sense. Caserio's star seems to be rising faster than O'Brien's. He seems to be a brighter guy. If he is like McDaniels, he might be a far better signal caller.
