Personally I think he probably did it. That being said....
"Nice reporting and nice writing" -> "Of course, we can never know if its all true or not, but one can easily wonder..."
This is not reporting. Its an editorial piece that is clearly highly influenced by the reporters own thoughts on the case. The first page alone is absolutely ridiculous. It reads like a crime novel. Real reporting doesn't contain lines like
"*Re-created from interviews, court filings, and police reports, and told through the eyes of Robert Nixon."
Personally, I think it looks like its probably going to turn out hes guilty, but until that's decided, any real journalist or real news source wouldn't put out crap like that.
An interesting read? yes. Journalism? no.
Ordinarily I'd think that goes without saying and that GQ is not a news source, but with some of the posters on this board, you just know some people will consider this "report" as if it were a guilty verdict.
