Here's a draft over at Football's Future, where they often bring the FAIL.

For once, though, I'm not sure if it's, as the title suggests, a win, a fail, or just meh.

McClain, Dan Williams, Iupati, Cody, and Hughes are all off the board at 22, but Sam Bradford is not, so this mocker has the Redskins trading with the Patriots. The Pats trade out of the first round altogether, and get a 2011 2nd and a 2010 5th.

Looking at it, Odrick was on the board when we picked - swap him for Bowman and that's a home run.

I think we need a guard - wrong mike johnson? micah seems a bit of a reach, though I like him from what i've read so far.

Little interest in Bowman - are we moving to 4-3?

Given the names available at #22, I wouldn't make the trade with the Redskins. Dunlop, Williams, Jones, Spiller, Pierre-Paul, etc. This team needs an impact player, and they're in good position to draft one at 22, whomever BB decides is that man.

Johnson is a bigger, less-quick Tyrone McKenzie so he is unnecessary.

Bowman is a value pick at #37 but Belichick would have to find a role for him. I think he would thrive as a playmaker in the "linebackers roaming around" formation on passing downs.

Love Romeus and at #44 he would be great value.

Tate is super productive and should click with Brady (smart routes, great hands, quick separation). Hard to argue with this pick given Welker's injury.

Johnson is a fail, Romeus and Tate are clear wins, Bowman is a win if there is a role for him.

I would have failed it, but Romeus has now announced that he'd going back to Pitt, so it makes even less sense.

I generally don't post user drafts from other sites, because they're not very accurate. This one is all over the place. It's got players listed who hadn't declared (Romeus, Jeremy Beal, Kareem Jackson), some huge reaches (Jon Asamoah in the 1st round, Ciron Black in the 2nd), and some major guys missing (Corey Wootten, Maurkice Pouncey, Vlad Ducasse).

Micah Johnson looks like a player who'll be going in the 2nd round by draft day. Great thumper at 3-4 ILB, off the top of my head he's 6'1 and weighs 260lbs. Potentially a Ted Johnson.

Right now the 2010 roster has only Mayo, Guyton, McKensie and Alexander at ILB; Guyton isn't good enough, McKensie is basically a rookie unknown and Alexander is hopeless at the position. We need another player, and Johnson is rapidly turning into my binky.

Totally understand what you are saying and I actually really like Johnson. If he lasts until the 4th round or later (not impossible since his timed speed isn't great), then he is back on my radar. Taking him in the 2nd means there is an expectation of getting reps...not just a developmental guy. My point is he would have the same role, practice reps, game snaps as McKenzie. One of them is almost by definition going to lose out in these areas.

I'm assuming a relatively clean bill of health for McKenzie (which isn't a sure thing) and that Belichick has a plan for him. Assuming Johnson does go in the first half of the draft, the Pats should be able to find a comparable player late (like McLaughlin from BC) that would provide depth. Potentially even on the practice squad.

I like Bowman but not for our sytem, FAIL! Also any mock where we trade out is not favorable for me especially that deal.

I'd love to get Tate in the 2nd round though, I think he would be a perfect #2 WR on this team & could start right away.

I really like Ben Tate also. And so if Brandon Tate comes back and performs well, we could have a really good Tate, Tate, and Tate offense.

I like Hughes, but I think that Sergio Kimball (this mock has him going to Miami at #12) projects into a better OLB prospect tthan Hughes. I think Kimball was underutilized as a DE at Texas, but he was in the backfield the entire night of the national championship game. You have to like anyone who shows up big time in a big time game.

That being said, I would say that this mock is a WIN!

If you look at the way the draft unfolded, it's a Meh at best.

Only ONE running back goes off the board between the extra pick they get at 24 and the pick they gave up.

-Got way too little value in that trade with Washington. A 2011 2nd round pick is the equivalent of a 2010 3rd pick. So essentially you are trading down from 22 to 37 for a 3rd and 5th? Pats will have better offers to trade down.
-I don't think RG is a huge need. I think the team is pretty high on Orhneger taking over there.
-I love any draft with Tate. He is an ideal WR for us. Familiar with the system, run a complete NFL route tree in college, has very strong hands, is great after the catch, and seperates well. Can play outside or in the slot. Reminds many of Steve Smith (the carolina version) sans the attitude.
-I'm not high on Bowman. He is undersized for us, and I know from people in the know at PSU that he has a crappy attitude.

I would be in Heaven if Golden Tate fell to us at 47.
