Which of the following strongside pass rushers would you prefer to take in the 22-42 range?

I've read both hardy and dunlap seem to have issues with not showing up during the game so i voted for romeous.

I haven't voted yet, as I'm torn between Dunlap and Romeus. Dunlap has the most upside but has inconsistency and off-field issues. Romeus seems safer and has a ton of upside, but perhaps not quite the athleticism of Dunlap.

I'm not sold on Dunlap. I can see the appeal, especially after the Gators' post-season performances with and without him (you tell me they're not a better team with him in there), but work-ethic is a big big thing for the Pats. You can say what you like about any 'character issue' player BB has ever taken on board, but none of them, not Corey, not Randy, not Brandon, had a question over their desire and ability to work.

However, if we do take him, then I'll be happy, because it means BB knows everything there is to know about him, his pluses and his minuses, and feels that he's the best option.

Hardy - I loved him earlier in the season, but the more I've watched him the colder I feel. And I'm not sure why. I think, think, it's the lack of burst he has. Yourself, BOR and Ochmed (aka the Magi :)) always talk about being 'sudden'. To me he's not 'sudden'.

By default, it has to be Romeus. Although he's a great player anyway. I feel much more comfortable with him than the other two.

Carlos Dunlap is the real deal.i know he got in trouble.but coach b can take care of that

It's not the getting in trouble I have a problem with, it's his motivation and desire.

well bring him in here show him how we do it in new england if the coaches and draft scouts see him lookin good take him .

We won't need to bring him in to discover that. Belichick has direct line to Dunlap's best evaluator - Coach Meyer. If Meyer gives him a clean bill of health, I'm all for it.

If he says he has issues - steer clear.

i rather have him then not get to the qb or let rbs run all over us .but yea if coach b does not like him cuz of his issues

The other two guys are good pass rushers, don't forget. Hardy will likely be a top 20 pick.

true .then take the pitt guy .i never heard much of the miss guy,but u never know he could be a beast

Where's Selvie?

Selvie wouldn't be a strongside DE/OLB, he'd be on the weakside list. If you want to add him, feel free. He's not on my list of top guys I'd consider, but is much further down along with guys like Jermaine Cunningham, Brandon Lang, O'Brien Schofield and Jason Worilds.

Greg Romeus is returning to Pitt for his senior year.

Pittsburgh Panthers' Greg Romeus returning for senior season - ESPN

Bummer. Cross him off the list.

Perhaps Brandon Graham should be added as a strongside candidate. I left Derrick Morgan off because he will go top 15 and because he seems like more of a pure 4-3 DE at this point.

Oh, being a teammate of JPP, I thought he'd be on the opposite list. I'll try and apply some logic somehow...:D

My vote's for Hardy. I think he's the complete package and the real deal. I wouldn't be opposed to Dunlap though.

I like Brandon Graham a lot. Although he lacks ideal height, he is really stout against the run and shows good effort when chasing down the ballcarrier, can tackle in space. His bullrush is pretty devastating too.

JPP actually plays on the string-side.

Derrick Burgess backed up by Corey Wooton & Rob Ninkovich.

For once the Combine would actually be useful, because the first 10 yards of the 40 is a great evaluator for explosion off the line. It's not perfect, but great times here can stun scouts especially when they don't expect it. A low 1.5 is a very good indicator; Clay Matthews did a 1.49 last year, amazingly.

Good article on this from Wes Bunting last year
