Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

Faulk is definitely part of the solution, not the problem. I hope they can work something out.

Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

Best news I've heard all day.

Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

Faulk staying has nothing to do with Maroney.

Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

Maroney has value to this team as well.. he is a known quantity and understands this "system"...

At best Faulk is a situational back, he is great at what he does.. but not for 4downs.

Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

I still see either Morris or Taylor retiring over Maroney going.

Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

We had five running backs in 2009. Faulk was the only free agent he has decided to stay.

This in no way affects the other four running backs who all would be in the last year fo their contract if they stayed. None is a 3rdd round back and reciever (although Morris could take on that role if necessary).

Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

teh frist good news of the offseason.

I really hope Morris is back...

Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

That. They don't even play in the same personnel packages, for the most part- for all intents and purposes, they play completely different positions.

That said, this is great (and completely unsurprising) news.

Faulk is a cool dude.. Met him down at the Stop & Shop one day.. (LSU plate in a tinted Mercedes)..

Faulk is not only valuabe on the field but also in the locker room. When people post a thread or chat about what type of player the Pats need, hold up a picture of Kevin Faulk and say "this is what we are looking for"

Re: # 33 wants to remain a NEP

I understand that. Though, like it or not its related because changes needed to be made in the run game. How many times this season did drives stall on 3rd and short? Indy 3rd and 2?

Could you imagine NE with guy like Ray Rice from freaking Rutgers?

When will NE have a RB like that because I'm tired of waiting for Maroney to be this great player. Its all a myth with him and his dreads. Before the Ravens game he was bragging how valuable he is to the team in a video.

Pleeeeeaaaseee.

I'll do a back flip when I read the official announcement in a month or so.

Evans, Gaffney, and Paxton also wanted to remain NEPs.

I hope Faulk Morris Taylor and Maroney are all back in 010

I would hope so. We can see which one or two is good enough, and wants to continue into 2011 and beyond. We also should bring in a playmaker to replace Green-Ellis.

I hope Faulk Morris Taylor and Maroney are all back in 010

I hope Maroney gets shipped off. I still think he can be a good player, but not as a behind-center running back for this team. He's a Reggie Bush -- get him the ball in space and let him run. He has been used completely incorrectly since he got here. He should be learning to become a reliable pass catcher.

Of course Faulk wants to stay. Of course BB wants him to stay.

Can they make it work from a contract standpoint is the question. We all think they will but when talking about a soon to be 34 year old running back it might not be as easy as it sounds.
