-Wilfork and Mankins are cornerstones to this team and MUST be re-signed if the Pats intend to keep the status quo.

-Faulk has yet to show me that he can't contribute in every game. He should be kept to assist with the transition to the new offense scheme.

-Burgess is the veteran who could play the role of a leader on the defense, till someone wants to step up and put it on their shoulders. The play calling needs to work towards his strengths to allow him to get pressure on the QB.

Re: Yay or Nay, Free Agents

The only ones Im hoping for are Wilfork, Bodden, Faulk.

It was; Burgess only played on passing downs and almost always was rushing. He didn't produce. I haven't heard anything about him being a team leader.

Kevin Faulk has been one of the most consistent and durable performers on this team.

Re: Yay or Nay, Free Agents

I would keep whoever might be valuable. I certainly would not pay alot for Burgress and Green, but I would rather have them in camp than not.

The keys are to re-sign Wilfork and Bodden.

We will tender all the RFA's.

yes- Bodden (cannot be franchised per his contract)
yes -Burgess
yes- Faulk
yes- Green
no- Hanson
Neal (has stated he will consider retirement)
Seau (likely not an early-season 2010 option)

100% give him what he wants - Wilfork

And Yankee fans are blasted for it

I don't think we'll have Watson, but I think he has done well for us, despite the fact he isn't used well in the passing game.

Wilfork, to me (yes, I realize I'm not BB, I don't pretend to be), could be turned into two solid players on the defense via trade. We need to fix the defense, and gambling on trading Wilfork could be one way it happens.

All the others I agree with. No one is excited about bringing back Green or Burgess, but I would welcome them back at the right price, which is not 5 mil a piece, btw.

We need some tough players with a will to win. We need football players with guts and heart. Losing Rodney and Bruschi hurt this team far more than just losing their play on the field.

Keep Bodden unless there is a better option available, keep Wilfork (even though I think he is overrated but there isn't anybody else), Gost and Mankins will be easy to retain. Faulk is Mr.Clutch, but it's time to go into a different direction. I'm sure Watson wouldn't want to re-sign if given the chance. If I was a TE, I'd be bored to death playing in their offense. Everybody else not highlighted can take a hike

WE need to get faster and younger on D. Wilfork is top 3, but will cost way to much, and signing him will cost us down the road with other FAs.
