Winners lose sometimes too. In fact only 1 team has ever won more sbs in a decade than the 2000s Pats did, and none won more games in a decade.
Winners lose with class when they lose.
I would hope that the Patriots fans, particularly the ones that post on this board, will have that same amount of class.

I recognize that this forum creates a nice opportunity to vent, but I don't think that anyone really wants it to turn into what it may.
Just my opinion, to which I'm sure there will be hater responses.

were you crying while you typed that?

not sure what you mean by class or what it has to do with the fans here

they got thoroughly ragdolled today......a finesse team that can't execute

much of the team needs to be reassessed.......and go back to more dependable offense.......with or without brady, the pats need to go back to the kind of offense that got them to SB's of the past......the pats really could have used charlie weis and the offense he used to deploy

just had to laugh at the "winners lose sometimes too" commentary to calm down the fan base.

just a commentary on how being superior for so long has wiped out the realism in the fanbase....

hey whatever softens the landing and eases the crash to reality....

The New England Patriots need to go back to the basics in 2010. Run the football and stop the run. The over-reliance on the shotgun formation has to go.

Well said Andy, fully agree. Win with dignity and lose the same way.

I thought they got found out today, and its what I've been expecting to happen all year. Theres a lot of holes in this team right now, we can sort everything out though with all our draft picks and FA. No need to panic just yet.

There is something else that I want to discuss and it could cause the server to crash if I did it today, maybe I'll take two weeks before I put it up.

Weis would have done nothing today with this OL, a hurt Moss and the rest of the worse-than-06 receivers.

Weis would have made a difference today. He would have called some plays to try and get the ball out of Brady's hands quickly and into Moss' hands. Moss was not hurt more than anyone else on the field, why else was he out there on the last offensive possession down by 19 with 2 min left? I would have liked to see the RB's get more involved, Taylor, Morris and Maroney earlier in the game. We were down 24-0 but it was very early in the game, too early to panic. A different OC would have made a difference, definitely not a win but definitely a closer game.

OK maybe Weis would have helped, and I certainly did NOT like the gameplan nor playcalling on offense today. But the fumble, was a 3 man rush and Light got schooled. The next INT was a moronic decision by Brady (after an admittedly stupid play call to roll him out). The 2nd INT was a force to Watson that went off his fingers BEFORE he got drilled.

24 point lead, and I'm sorry but Weis isn't the difference maker with the lack of talent this team had today on offense.

I disagree with your opinion on how hurt Moss is/was. I refuse to believe that there's any reason (aside from him being hurt) that they don't at least ATTEMPT to get him to make a play on a ball deep.

I agree with you, we needed to do something to get the ball into Moss' hands and part of that is taking chances down the field. Even if the pass is incomplete it makes the safties play more honest and not creep up all the time.

I also agree with the play calling in the 1st quarter, it was so frustrating and so predictable. The draws, and the quick WR screens. Then when they mix it up, its rolling Brady out? When have we ever seen a designed play for Brady to roll out?

We need another OC, ASAP.

Yea I usually defend the OC around here but I think this season O'Brien failed his test.

While I agree; We need a OL before you can do much imo.

Failed miserably. It wasnt like today was the only day that the play calling on the offensive side of the ball was questioned.

At some point in the game when the offense was on the field they showed a shot of Belichick with a play sheet in his hand. It's possible that Obrien really did fail his test and Bill took over. We'll have to wait and see what happens during the off season to find out for sure.

At this point I don't think it would be a bad idea to bring someone in from outside to be the OC. The league seems to have caught up to our offense and there clearly needs to be changes made, the question it where.

here is stat .... pats had 61 yard of offense in the firsthalf and all 61 were faulk

I agree that the offensive schemes and calls were aweful. How bad were they. Lewis brageded befor the game that he could anticipate audibles, counts and formations. He just could tell what was coming. And he showed as much in the game.

No, Charlie would not have prevented all the turnovers. We wouldn't ahve won the game with the level of play of our offense (certainly including Brady). But, it would have been closer.

And just by the way: props to Faulk for a great game and great leadership, and props to Edelman for a fine, fine performance by a backup and a rookie!

Very, very few of the players out there today were the ones who won SBs with the Pats. And yes, I do question whether the players came to play today. What game were you watching?

Yeah, man, when that came out in the commentary, it made an awful lot of sense. Absolutely terrible showing by the coaching staff.

Brilliant and well put. I will happily bump this thread along, as needed, for weeks, if necessary. Let's act like men, shall we?
