Let the misery begin, and keep it all in here please.

That "final 8" stuff has made me somewhat happy. Can anyone list the disadvantages the final 8 have?

Hmmph.

Tommy boy where did you go?

I think another off-season and year removed from the injury will counterbalance the decline with age and the beating he took this year.

He's still tough as nails. Wish he didn't ask for so many calls but unfortunately it's come to that to get this offense moving

The Pats can lose a playoff game, but the game today was disturbingly bad. An embarrassment.

More disturbing is that with all the talk of new players, the weak player today was Tom Brady. Gift interceptions are expected from a rookie QB, not from him.

Rather lose to the Ravens than get lit up by the Chargers. So it's not all bad :(

I'm disappointed in our running game today.

Kevin Faulk should not be the best runner out there.

Maroney sucks at pass blocking ... so that removed him.

Taylor had nothing ... Moss looks like his knees are toasted.

We started the day behind the 8-ball unfortunately.

Need to consider one sobering possibility...maybe TB never is the same as pre injury TB.

He was dreadful today worse than Sanchez

NEW RULE – THE FINAL EIGHT PLAN: This new set of rules limits the Free Agent activity of the 8 teams that reach the Divisional Round of the playoffs in 2009.

OLD RULE: There were no such limitations.

RAMIFICATIONS: Again, more limits on what teams – the good teams – can do in Free Agency. This rule, in theory, is in place to keep “the rich from getting richer” and essentially is aimed at prohibiting a good team from buying a championship.

Teams in the AFC and NFC Championship games can only sign a UFA after they have lost a FA of their own. They are allowed to sign players released by other teams and re-sign their own FAs.

The other 4 teams in the Final 8 have the same prohibition, but can also sign some FAs based on certain salary restrictions. These restrictions basically are aimed at keeping them from signing top tier FAs.

from- Baltimore Ravens News - Will an "uncapped" 2010 shift the NFL's balance of power towards the rich?

Nothing else to say , the team had no effort today.. Apparently Wes Welker is the Patriots offense.. I blame the coaching staff, the players, no effort.. Im ashamed today...

Well, we outscored them after the 1st qtr. :bricks:

This was a pathetic way to end a disappointing season. I think a reality check has hit us. We have a mediocre defense with an inconsistent and stale offense. We lack leadership and the coaching had its worst year here since BB took over.

It will be an interesting offseason, I hope.

I dont want to hear about final 8 , or how many draft picks we have... The reason why we lost today, because of no offensive cooridnators , no wr, no pass rush... this is Belichick's biggest offseason coming up here as a Pats head coach...

Pats just looked unprepared from the start. Brady must be more hurt then he was letting on. I am really shocked that I just witnesses a BB coached team play this way in the playoffs.

This is the beginning of the end for the pats. They have a million issues that will take years to fix.

Players to let go:

Maroney
Ben Watson
Koppen
Light
Jarvis Green
Shawn Springs
Fred Taylor
Kaczur
Pierre Woods
Eric Alexander

Boomer just let the bye bye Adalius Thomas bomb fly.

I know its like bashing god or something but Belichick has to take a LOT of the blame for this season

1 - The offseason was incredibly poor
2- Why did we trade away our best defensive player and all our defensive leaders
3 - Why did not replace McDaniels
4 - Why, when even my dog could see the offensive playcalling sucked, did he stay with it
5 - Those idiotic 4th down calls
6 - Why did we go into the season knowing full well we had next to no pass rush (Pierre Woods ffs)
7 - The cancerous locker room - sending guys home etc

Something is rotten inside that locker room now and the way Brady is acting, playing etc (and Moss) I get the view they're not happy at all

The team really needs a fresh injection of ideas, motviation etc because as good as it has been, its gone real stale

I can't think of the game starting off much worse than it did. It was too big of a hole to climb out of.

Our offense was awful. But the defense really disappointed me. Several times on third and long, the Ravens ran the ball, broke some tackles, and still picked up the first down. After the Pats offense finally developed something positive, the defense would give it back right away.

Statistically, it was a top 10 defense in terms of points and yards, but there were two glaring shortcomings: red zone defense, and 3rd down defense, and both of those came up repeatedly today.

The whole team sucked. It's disappointing, and bitter. But this was a Patriots rebuilding year, so to lose in the play-offs isn't as bad as it could have been. I'll keep telling myself this over the next few hours (days, weeks, whatever).

They lost today for all the reasons that some of us have been pointing out over the course of almost 12 months now. The best we can hope for is that Belichick is humbled by this experience and stops thinking his doesn't stink. Maybe then he'll stop making the types of absolutely idiotic decisions he made this past year.

Edlemensch played with alot of heart. Good for him.

God bless Kevin Faulk.
